true the drag cars usually get rebuilt / checked frequently. if i was building a drag evo id do the typical 2.0 + hta86. for street stroker + mid size turbo = ftw.

Here is a graph of my car at 3 boost levels. I put the RPM reference on the spot the lowest power "whipped" or started to level vs the normal 45* climb to peak torque. Obviously it kept going out the top but thats not what I am trying to talk about. That point is the first spot the car makes 300 ft lbs and begins to do something (i.e. feels like a turbo car). My car makes peak power at 7800 rpm and keeps power pretty flat out to 8400. If you were to ask me I would describe this at 4400-8400. Realistically the working range of the powerband is not that big though, since running any boost to make good power is more like 5k to 8400.

i was just gonna ask for this. you read my mind. your setup is very nice for the power output.. not bad lag at all. id definitely enjoy that car. honestly lag is overrated, once you daily drive a car that doesnt spool until later you actually get used to driving higher rpm, so in reality the power is ontap just as quick for a experienced driver

build a LR 2.4 & select a turbo that fits your requirements with the car.

a fp-blk is awesome, but it runs into issues with back pressure when you really crank it up >650 whp / dj....yeah you can make more, but my engine feels like its struggling to do so.

Here is a 30 psi run with a oem intake mani, only bored out to 65mm.

I have since installed a ams f1 int mani & the power is amazing, with minimal loss in transient response.

If your looking for big power & willing to take a little more of a low rpm transient response hit, go with a propper TS turbo.

A big turbo will drive nice on the street, but you did mention auto x.....

the options are out there.....you just need to decide on what you want.

Just tuning.

Your ign timing tips helped a bunch. This was the 1st time i have ever ran e85 & I cant get over how well it responded to the retarded ign timing down low. Then it was just a matter of balancing ign timing vs tq.
