All these nice UOAs with different oils, setups, and drain intervals, but funny how there is still frequent posts asking what oil to run on our cars.
What if your root analysis here TommiM ?

where do you think the scale is tipping here.

i am wondering if we could plug this data into excel and show some metrics based on the data you have,,, i do well with excel the issue is if i run the numbers and post a graph with metrics it may not sound as pretty as someone non ASMOIL affiliated doing this. just proposing not that it has to be done

I would love to see some of this data gathered and put together in excel. What type of info were you thinking about? If the info is accurate then I just cant see how it can be biased. I personally am not taking any sides on this thread as far as oil brands go.

update... i just finally had some time to send out a sample of amsoil RD 30 dominator race oil from a track event a while ago. it had been sitting sealed up ready to ship so it should still be fine to sample. ill post up results as soon as i hear back. iirc it was labeled as having 1 track day event. there was about 5-6 sessions that day,20 min a piece of me going 8/10 the whole time. plus 1000 street driven miles.

The past 2 samples I sent to BL had 2 track days each, a few drag passes and 3-3.5k miles total, so I imagine the Dominator UOA will come back almost as good as new

Thats when I collected it but I had it sitting stored, and well sealed for a while. I just hadnt got around to sending it in being busy with moving across the country, new job, getting married, house,etc...

It was the next track event after this one that I had my headgasket failure so now that I am getting ready to put everything back together I was curious if the UOA from the previous track event might inform me of other issues I might have been having. It was just a weird event since my walboro took a dump as well.

I wanted to post this info because I havent seen a lot of RD30 UOAs on here, but mainly I sent it in to gather info for myself.

Guys,
i am curious will there be a bad effect if we mix different brand of engine oil (mainly redline 15w-50 + motul 6100 15w-50 as top up whenever oil level drops)?

Thanks

New UOA from me. 5W-30 Amsoil Synthetic. (Had to reduce quality so I could get it under the 100KB upload limit :S)

I just put in some 20W-50 ZROD Amsoil for summer time

^^^^ Has Blackstone given you any recommendation for mileage when you change your oil? Based on the viscosity and flashpoint results, it looks like you should be changing it closer to 2700 miles than nearly 4000.

They've generally recommended me to move more towards 3500 rather than under 3000. Switched to 20W-50 ZROD now for summer so we'll see how that holds up after a couple track days.
