EDIT: You probably already found it, but here is an article on mixed flow turbines:

http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijrm/2012/589720/

There is another article I read last week, but I can't find it.
We were talking about this way back in 2013, and this really good article made sense to me, and the "Figure 2" I thought explained it just fine (mixed flow).
Now I'm scratching my head, because I went looking for an official BW cutaway showing not just the wheel, but also the turbine housing, to verify the flow direction shown by that arrow which aims partly axial.
I went looking for one that shows a single scroll housing, because with 2 scrolls each with different "aiming direction" the picture is more ambiguous.
The 2015 BW full catalog shows what I was looking for. I added a big blue arrow in what I think would be the "average" flow direction of the gases as they enter the blades. Whaddya know. It's practically opposite the direction shown by full-race and by that article.
Just something interesting and a little bit WTF? I'll get the 2 pics in here ....
So according to the article and Full-Race, the gasses enter already aimed somewhat towards the turbine outlet.
But when you add the turbine housing to the picture it looks like the gasses would enter aimed somewhat towards the full-back of the wheel. Almost a 90 degree difference in entry angle.

The Full-Race T4 Top Mount manifold can fit all the way up the 9180 on the top mount with IWG and no AC or fitment issues as well.

With that being said that Hypertune manifold also looks very high quality. Do they offer full lifetime warranties on all their products? So if down the road it cracks they will fix it for free and if it can't be fixed they will replace for free?

Personally, the top mount options don't appeal to me and what I'm going to be doing with the car (bottom mount = better COG), I don't have AC to worry about either so it was a no brainer

Lifetime warranty Pete says he's never seen one crack or had one returned.
Scorch S15 had a turbo failure last year (Garrett) due to excessive heat, turbine housing melted and disintegrated (the engine bay is essentially 'sealed'). The manifold withstood the heat (it had 2 different layers of heat wrap), no warping or damage

Hypertunes manifolds are made from 347H stainless so highly heat resistant.

My sincere apologies, I neglected to mention that

It will work with any EWG EFR. It won't work with the IWG EFR

We can't run the turbo without a proper manifold, so manifold talk is perfectly relevant in this thread.

As for the Full-Race manifold: I'm glad to see they've finally posted this up. Now I'd love to see some dyno plots of a twin-scroll 7163 on an Evo IX.

I'm not familiar with the Evo 6 radiator required with the Full Race EFR manifold. Does it have roughly equivalent cooling capacity to the stock 8/9 radiator?

yeah saying we cant discuss the manifolds in this thread is just dumb. without a good manifold you cant mount the turbo duh.

ive also been digging trying to find 7163 dynos. on some subarus and a few other cars it appears to be capable of at least 400whp and spools no later than 3800 rpm....which would be awesome. however i dont know if the 7163 is "old" tech already? and i dont know how much having to run the 0.85 hot side will choke things?

the evo 6 radiators are identical to the 8/9 in cooling etc, the only difference being the inlet gives a straigh shot from the water neck to rad instead of snaking over the intake. necessary since the manifold shifts everything to that side.

either way it is still unfortunately a $4-$5k project to get one on the car i think...

I like the way I did it. This is a 1.45 A/R 9180 Top Mount setup.

I'm not trying to promote anything so pull your head from out of your ***.

Like any other forum guys should be informed by exploring the alternatives, believe it or not there are options out there aside from FullRace.
