largely depends on what the car is used for and what clutch personalities you can and cannot live with.

1. expense
2. life span
3. pedal pressure
4. harshness on drive-line
5. smooth on take off
6. high rpm shift-ability
7. noise-pedal depressed
8. noise-during engagement
9. noise -during decel
10. drag durability
11. and of course HP level

I'm looking to upgrade my oem clutch, and this blade one sounds very attractive. On their website, it lists only one version, which means they all come with the same pressure plate. Is that right?

Go with the Blade, it will last longer(Exedy twin will be ruined in one track outing), and the Blade is way cheaper.

That one is the replacement disc for a stock pull style setup like an ACT, the one you want is:

REGULAR
ACM23132-16
$1,299

I'm confused now. That's the single. Are all the single plates, blade?

Yes, the one for $1299 includes PP, disc, FW and push conversion. The $900 Blade disc is a stock rplacement disc for factory pull style and they are on backorder at this time.

not hugely cheaper than some of the new twins. seems like it comes down to dd vs torque capacity.

My main purpose is autocrossing. I launch it every lap by feathering it. I can hit 1.7s 60ft times with the stock clutch. I don't use launch control either. I hear that going to a lighter flywheel (as in the Carbonetics) will make launching even harder. Is that true? My local evo shop highly recommends the twin plate. Which clutch out of their lineup would you guys recommend for me?

Curt, you sure your blade is 9 inch? Cause I just bought a used carbonetic single to use my blade in. When it came in I realized my blade is factory size 9.25 inch. Is your clutch off car right now? can you post some pics of the insides?

Curt/Jerry, How do you feel this clutch would work with increased Clamping force?
1600kg of clamp (3520lbs) is a lot more than stock, there is a company in NZ that can get 4000-4200lbs clamp out of a stock pressure plate.

This way all i would need is a blade clutch disc, nothing else.
Can you buy these separately?
i can get the flywheel and pressure plate re-machined, and increase the clamp and retain the Pull setup.

The blade for stock pressure plate is 9.25 inch (240mm)
The pro blade clutch set is 9.00 (230mm)

If the pro blade is clamping 1600kg with 9 inch disc then you will need less clamping force ~1500kg with 9.25 disc to get same holding power.

The advantage of pro blade is twofold. It will shift better as its smaller in diameter. And pedal pressure is less due to PP not flexing as much as factory steel plates do.

the blade disc is supposed to be available by itself. so far hasnt been sold that way.

Anyone else gotten one of these and can post some feedback? After making the switch to E85 my stock clutch is starting to slip at high boost and I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this.
