boost flutter in high rpms
boost flutter in high rpms
So after my tune I got boost flutter only in 5th gear around 22psi (partial or full throttle). I am tuned around 25 and when it flutters it will take around 3 seconds or so to then jump to 25psi and still flutter... it feels like the car lacks power greatly when this happens...
I went back to the tuner and had my bov crushed a little but that didn't solve the problem. He said there was some compressor serge (around 35k rpm), so my 5th gear map is now downtuned (overdrive.. lol). He said that he couldn't fix the flutter and now my 5th gear pull is even slower but safer i guess. However, now it's happening very slightly in 4th gear (maybe from the crushing of the bov since the 3d mapping only effects 5th gear).
Any ideas? I have gsc s2, stock 8 turbo, 91octane.

tell me why your in 5th gear tryin to pin wot, your luggin the engine around, thats not good, i can under stand maybe boostin between 10-20 psi to pass people...just downshift if you wanna drive like a jackass..ahah...what turbo u running? if its an fp red i can understand some of the surge...
You are not surging on the stock turbo, I'm willing to bet. Your bov is fluttering and you should gus mod it too. And like already stated.... STOP DOING 5TH GEAR PULLS!!! That is the quickest way to blow your motor ****ing sky high! If you do a 5th gear pull it should be because your redlined in 4th and had to shift into 5th. Other than that, don't do it brother.

lol.. well I discovered the flutter when driving on the freeway in 5th.. so i wanted to get it fixed, therefore we did 5th gear pulls to try and fix it.
So i should gus mod my stock (slightly crushed bov) instead of crushing it more?

Also do a boost leak test to make sure nothing else is leaking. A lot of times the vacum nipples on the tb dry rot and start to leak or you have an IC pipe that is not tight. I would use all T Bolt clamps for all your IC piping so you don't have any problems in the future.
