I bought the forced performance fap cover for my stock ix turbo. Why ? Potential gain for 200 = yes. Another 200 for a hotside? I'd do it if I knew what the relationship between the fap and the 11.5 would trend towards .

BTW, I do have cams hks 272's. I'm also considering a 280 ex cam if I can find one!

Have you already installed the FP anti-surge cover? If so, what is your assessment so far? Do you plan on switching over to S.D. as well?

I started SD on the stock cover. Waiting to get it running good enough to make the switch. Trying to get the hang of SD is a hurdle though I've only been tuning for 6 months, my maf tune runs ok but isn't brilliant . So I'm still back and forth. One big problem for me is the pte 1000cc scaling in the super merge was nowhere near close. Got a new scaling and using a stock fuel map with tweaking vs a vastly different fuel map like before.

Good luck! I am sure that you'll get it sorted out(The SD, I mean)!

Thanks! I'm really just trying to find out if the11.5 would hurt the 16gc compressor set up. If anyone has input Lmk!

There is no reason that it would hurt it. If they went from a 9.8cm housing to a 10.5cm housing for overall flow than theoretically it should be the same thing for this 11.5cm housing...in theory though.

It depends on what you are looking for. As you move up the ladder in turbine housing size(9.0, 9.8,10.5, & 11.5) it is a given that you will be giving up a couple hundred RPM in turbo spoolup with each successive increase, but at the same time you should be gaining about 10WHP with each upsize as well.

Right, so the larger hotside would need less waste gate = bump in efficiency correct?

Just going by the few pics that I've seen, I like the design of the 11.5cm housing in comparison to the factory 10.5. The turbine inlet area is larger, the turn in radius to the scroll is more open as well. The wastegate bypass ports are larger as is the wastegate flapper valve's diameter. I am thinking of slapping one onto my FP Red.

There is going to be less back pressure so you will get an improvement in efficiency. The compressor will not have to work as hard to flow the same amount of air.

I would send it out to have the turbine outlet area of the 11.5 housing ported so as to maximize turbine efficiency and further reduce exhaust backpressure. You'll probably have to add fuel in the upper midrange area of your fuel table. As that puppy should really flow with the FP compressor cover and a ported 11.5cm housing.

I'll buy one then. Would be nice to have a sponsor in tuning to help judge the gains.. as it is I may not be able to give a nearly accurate comparison.
