evo 8 problem need info

last night my upper inter cooler pipe pop off from my intake, the car stop, i check under neet the car and the exhaust was red hot.

i drove the car 500 m at 1500 rpm 5 miles/per hours on the side of the highway stop and replace the pipe at the intake.

now i noticed a lack of boost pressure , can only boost 12- 14psi ....

Did you check for a boost leak? That would be the first place to start.

Were you beating on the car a lot before the pipe blew off?

Make sure your vacuum line didn't pop off your fuel pressure regulator, that can cause the motor to go lean and in turn will make your exhaust glow red.

Check for boost leaks, make sure all the piping is tight.

Sounds like your throw-out bearing is making some noise, not too much cause for concern. I would worry if continues to get louder and louder, then you may be looking at a clutch.

All the piping check ! seems to be ok

i try to by pass my manual boost controller with the plastic fitting ....a reach 10 psi .....put back my mbc (turn the knob at full capacity ) still pushing 15 psi not much ....

i can hear the motor running louder and i defenitly have a loss of power .... but pass 7000rpm i can barely hear the turbo

i am curious why suddenly my intake piping blow out from my intake since a don't over boost ... what can do that beside a overboost ....

the car seems to run nice beside that ..... i try to disconnect de battery but not much difference

maybe ready to swap for a evo 9 turbo ?

by the way i have a evo 8 2003 with 98 000miles .....purchased 6 month ago

ok up date !

no leaks found !

compression test 160 160 160 160 pretty good for 98 000 miles

change the mbc and the bov swap for a evo 9 oem brand new .

everythings seems to be normal except i can 't boost more then 12 -14 psi

i noticed when i release the gaz pedal to shift i lost instantly all the pressure .... and today in the traffic my idle jump to 850 rpm to 1350 rpm ... and stay there , i put the a/c on and it drop at 1000 rpm normal.

then my boost pressure gage indicated 0 vacumm .... re start the car and show 19 vacum like before ...

i have done a motor shampoog one week before a blew the hose from my intake ..... and had my boost problem

could it be a sensor problem ?

i'm pretty lost now ..... should i go for a evo 9 turbo new for 899 $ here in canada

then what it sounds like is you either have a vacuum hose popped off, more then likely its your vacuum line where the boost gauge ties into...or one of the lines are cut or somethin, like someone posted earlier, nice little trick spray hairspray on each pipe where the coupler is where the clamp goes, then tighten each down till you feel some resistance, just if your on stock clamps make sure u dont use a screwdriver but use sockets.
