wrist pins are not directional. Floating means that they are not pressed in, but a clip retains them as they can float inside the rod end.
Pistons are directional.
Was the block notched for h beam rods? (not sure if it needs to be or not)
I would like to see the rod and bearing of the failed cylinder
Sorry for your loss dood

I've put over 10k miles on my eagle rods, and they are doing great. Map suggested them when I did my build and these rods have produced multiple 500+ builds including mine.
I understand your pain, although I've had great results, leaving me to wonder if you have additional issues with your build. Did you bore you block when you did the install?

There are a lot a missing bits of information here...
900 miles of "break-in" miles. Was the car even tuned at all after the motor was built? What kind of "break-in miles" were they? Were you beating on the car? Did the rod fail or did a rod bolt fail? How many 4Gs has this builder built before? Was the machining proper? Was the block cleaned really well after the machining? How kind of oil was used? How often was the oil changed during break in? I could go on...
There are a massive amount of variable that could have caused your problem. I would not be so quick to knock on the Eagles because you had one issue. I, myself, have currently Eagles in my 1G DSM and am making almost 500hp though the automatic, which would put my hp through a 5-speed at or around 550hp. My good friend JohnnyTSi (find him on here) has used Eagles in every single DSM and Evo he's ever owned over the last 10 years and every one of them is over 650hp. Currently his 1G DSM 2.3L stroker is making 760hp and his Evo IX 2.4L is making 650hp... both with Eagle Rods. He's NEVER had an issue with them and he's not the type to baby his cars. I have personally only seen ONE set of Eagles fail and they were bent due to a meth injection issue that hydrolocked the engine.

I have to agree to a point. Try searching the internet for failed eagle rods. You find way more opinion than occurrence. I went the manley TT route for peace of mind, but eagle failures are rare
I've got an 03 EVO with forged eagle rods and forged weisco pistons (among other mode) and had the engine rebuilt about 4 yrs ago and she is still running. I recently had it retuned and that guy that hooked up evoscan for the tune said I was knocking about 15+. Needless to say its been a few months the car ran everyday and sometimes hard before the tune and I think the engine (including internals) held up great during that hard time. So in the end its prob a few minor things that eventually caused ur trouble. Good luck tho with the rebuild tho and getting it back on the road.
see above.
In for the pics, I wanna see the rod and piston.
100% agree with what SonySlave Posted, Cant knock the rods when plenty people use them and make big power with no issues, something went wrong in your motor that caused that to happen and Highly Dough it was because eagle rod failed.
I took my 4 year old motor with eagle rods, Arias Pistons almost 200 mph racing a few 1000 cc bikes on a closed course last month

I ran them in my honda with no problem. I sold it 4 years ago and I believe its still alive to this day lol.
i dunno couldve been install error, or couldve been a machining error, that led to an improper install of a part, which lead to your failure. Sorry to hear that op get it fixed soon, but as for eagle rods bein junk ive been told that too but in my engine build im goin on almost 30k only pump gas and im almost at 400 hp on 91 octane. Even though there made in china, there still steel rods??
