when i saw bad machining quality / tolerances, this was with v8 stuff & it was a while ago & it was with an older crowd = my dad & his friends, so they are not very internet savvy, as far as posting pics & documenting it on their favorite v8 forum..so that is why i think posting is low.....hell, i know my dad doesnt post anything on a forum, but he will shop around on line for engine stuff.

A buddy of mine ran eagle rods in his 2.4 and they lasted a few years, but once he made 700whp one of the rods snapped.

that was a rod problem deff. do you have pics or vid of the piston and the other piece of the rod???!!?

Well, looks like the rod bolts are still holding on... Is the rest of the rod still in the cylinder?

Check those bearings when you take apart the motor, it might of seized. Very Hard to Believe that during "break" in with so little rpm (7500) ? 900 miles and babied as you claim barely boosting it 22 psi? That this rod snapped in half like that. I guess some people have good luck and some people have bad luck with eagle rods.
