Thinking about upgrading to a FP 71HTA

Ok So I am close to being maxed out on my mods. Current Mods.
269 cams
880cc injectors
Works DP, Exhaust, Trottle body
ETS 3.5 IC
Halman MBC
Mishi Rad
Injen UICP/Intake
ETS LICP
Test Pipe
ACT HDSS with Findanza LWFW

I daily drive my car so don't want to make it completely un daily drivable. Plus its my soccer mom car so drive my 7 year old around. I am pretty close to 400awhp just feelin like I want some more. IDK its the typical dog chasing his tail. Never can have enough Powah.

I have been reading into turbo upgrades and came across the FP 71HTA. I haven't seen much as far as people running them so was curious as to people opinions. Also if my current mods would support. it.

let me know what you guys think thanks.

i wouldn't mess with it. just pick up a hta green and call it a day. keep the tq low so the motor stays happy and have fun. the reason i say that is your already on a 9 turbo so you won't make much more with the 71hta than what you can with the 9.

i'm running the 73hta green and i couldn't be any happier.

the price difference is more what i would consider...

i was thinkin about picking up the 71...because its pretty cheap to upgrade for some more punch...you only send FP your CHRA and Compressor side...leave the turbine housing bolted to the car.

MSRP for the green is $1695.
MSRP for the 71HTA is $650...

gains would be nice from it...and you wont have to fork out over a grand to see some results. pretty sure this turbo would go nicely with your mods.

or you could switch to e85, crank up the boost and make over 400 on your current setup...

That was my main motivation was the price. But it looks like you can do a core swap for the green no? from FP's website
Send in your stock Evo IX turbocharger to be upgraded to our FP GREEN 73HTA™ for the Mitsubishi Evolution IX. Upgrade cost is $869.00 and includes a complete rebuild, machining and balance to meet our requirements for the FP GREEN 73HTA™ turbocharger. Porting is available for this turbocharger at a cost of $95.00, an 18PSI or 25PSI wastegate actuator for an additional $129.00 and we can also add our 84mm Flow Advancement Port compressor cover for an additional $150. Please indicate on your rebuild form if you would like to have any additional items added during the upgrade process.

I would love to go E85 just not practical for me for a daily driver. Not enough E85 stations around. Also considered Meth. Its the never ending hunt for powah

you could upgrade that way as well...but i dont think that price is up to date, due to all of the FP Greens, Reds, and Blacks being sold as Ball Bearing turbos.

Btw i have my methanol injection kit for sale

Are those HP #'s on pump gas...? I thought Works didnt make 269 cams for the IX... I think the 71HTA for the money would be a worthwhile upgrade. But a Green would be the best one time purchase.

BBK Full from CBRD, plus your right down the road from them I have had mine for over a year and could not be happier with my decision on the turbo and the service I have received.

Also I would like to add the BBK lite is a great price effective option, as I see your doing price comparisons.

Yah they do... I bough the car with the Works TR340 package. Prior owner had it installed.. List of what was installed. I don't have the Airbox anymore or the HFC. Also unlocked the ECU for custom tune.

The TR-340 includes:
-WORKS Brain Flash P2 ECU upgrade properly tuned for optimum drivability and performance
-WORKS High-Flow drop-in air filter
-WORKS Aperture bored throttle body
-WORKS 269 Power Cams* (Cosworth cams* for EVO IX applications)
-WORKS Exhale 76mm thermal coated DP (Downpipe)
-WORKS Exhale 76mm resonated IP (Intermediate Pipe)
-WORKS Exhale 76mm ABM (Axle Back Muffler)
