Few issues with my evo

1) It makes a kind of a thumping noise which is loudest around 45mph. Passenger axle was leaking grease so I replaced it and it is still making the noise. Any suggestions?

2) Redline shifting issues which I believe is because of RPM hang. recently replaced my clutch and it just started. I'm thinking its my VSS on the tranny. Any suggestions?

I think the first one might be a wheelbearing.

Do you ever launch your car?

As far as shifting goes, bet it is your clutch not disengaging completely. It could also be related to the "thumping" noise if that noise is your transmission like it was for me after launching my car at the track.

Does the thumping happen in any gear at 45mph? When you say loudest at 45, does that mean it gets quieter above/below 45? Perhaps the road noise just drowns it out above 45?

If you can, I would suggest taking audio of the sound if you can and posting it. You might get more responses then.
