You need a modified 2.0L waterpump or a spacer. The oil pumps are the same, you need cam gears because of the deck height increase, and a good headgasket.

Thread hijack: Aaron, when we alter the MIVEC cam gear, does the tune need to be adjusted at all?

Thanks!

why would you go with the 2.3 makes no sense those extra parts total are not over 300 and you still make out better and cheaper building a 2.4

Why is the water pump spacer needed? Just curious since Im starting to research a bit of 2.4 goodness for my IX.

Also, I know cam gears are needed (OEM 2.4l) to compensate for the 6mm deck height difference but what is done for the mivec cam? Ive seen companies have lines to pull oil from an available spot (MAP) or drilling is needed for hydraulic pressure. I dont know if theirs a pressure difference using the available line vs drilling as far as pressure is concerned.

We prefer to not use a spacer. We modify the waterpump instead, there is a thread around showing why The serpentine doesnt like offset from what we have found. The modification is needed because the 2.0L pump doesnt line up with the coolant passages. We tried the Evo 4 pump and it didnt work for us.

Its what I use in my car and all of the high powered 2.4s we do. We dont use an off the shelf cometic nor the phuzion, we have one made for us.

MIVEC is closed loop.

2.4s are very very fun motors for sure. Beyond worth the coin to get it built and dropped in
