Your doing something wrong because the graph is not right. Also, why are you using 1.24 correction factor? Numbers are very inflated.

His torque number is in nm,not ft/lb so you don't see the graph line intersection at 5252RPM

Correct, use 1.24 correction factor to simulate the power at the engine.

At the wheels:

Smoothing factor 5, Correction factor 1.06.

That makes a lot more sense. But, for a turbo that size, i'd expect a lot more power.

yes, i think the same, the wastegate don´t boost more than 1.5b with the hose disconnected. Try to change to another stock wastegate.

The boost don´t up to 21psi from 4500rpm to 7500rpm !!! I tried to adjust the wastegate bolt and nothing,no leak boost, and the boost controller is ok.

I thing the problem maybe the stock cams, may be possible not to give more power or "pressure" to move the bigger turbo ?

Hello. The wastegate is ok. I think maybe the problem is the outlet, because is the stock Evo 5 turbo. In the next days, i will remove the turbo, install a ported manifold and 3" outlet.

Probably at time, install a BC 280º Cams and re-tune the Ecu.

Today, open the outlet side to look the wastegate port. This is a picture:

The wastegate output seems not closed well. Maybe this is the problem.
I will contact to Kinugawa to see that think about.

I had the same problem with mine,Kinugawa sent me a 25psi actuator as a replacement but i still had to cut the actuator rod to be able to preload the wg enough so it would work properly, finally all the lag i had been having went away and boost was controllable,at 29 psi on 93 oct it put down 440@wheels VD DynoJet setting, can't wait to see what this thing can do on E85 at 36psi !!

I would also be installing the 25G but this will be on a 2.3l block. I have the 20G and it made 377whp on my 2.0l

I will be using the Tial 38mm xgate. Was told not to go crazy with the boost as it is still a journal bearing and the size mismatch between the fins may cause unnecessary load on the bearings. That being said. I run 1.5bar daily on the 20G and when I opened up the turbo for the 25G upgrade the 'upgraded' bearings looks great

Will see how this goes... as the motor is being assembled now.

Hello. In the next days, try to a new wastegate and weld the top of the wastegate port, to adjust in the exhaust side, has a slight clearance.

The other solution is install a external wastegate, with the SAS exit on the stock manifold.

bump for updates. still undecided on this turbo. for the price, its not bad. 370 @21 psi doesnt seem too bad considering im on stock cams, ams fmic, custom SD setup and turbo back exhaust making 337 @24 psi on a mustang dyno. i still have some tuning to do as my afr's are pretty fat but id like to break 400 on stock internals here soon. it would be nice to see how this turbo compares to say FP's 71HTA.

^ Ditto I really want to go this direction.

Allot of the Aussie Evo/Subaru guys run these turbos with no problems.
