Hope this helps you guys for future reference. This is a fp18psi btw:
Btw nothing custom was done, and I did it with everything intact.

and heres the old one:
HKS BROKEN ROD.

SO I HOPE THIS CLEARS THE AIR FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THAT RUN THIS TURBO!!!!
You CAN run the FP 18/25psi wastegate.

Thanks for posting, did you have to re-tune boost via wastegate duty cycle after the swap?

Well mine was tuned for 26 psi. But as far as idles, and afr. Stuff just kinda smoothed out. It wouldnt hurt to log a run or have a tuner see it. But im good.

no. he sold that turbo to me. I have it here. it could be repaired fairly easily by machining a new shaft. But my plan was to have a 9.8cm mitsubishi housing machined to fit the turbo. I think the 9.8 housing will be an upgrade. the HKS housing looks restricted to me.. although that may be one of the reasons it spools so fast.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but isn't the HKS wastegate flapper bigger than the 9.8 cm flapper? Do you think this will present a problem for high boost? Also are you going to have a turbo shop do the machine work, or do you work at a shop that can do it for you?
