Bad Bish, the next generation-introducing the clutchless 4 speed.
Great job Dave! You are one tenacious SOB! With all the crap you endured to get to this place, noone would have thought any less of you if you would have scrapped this project a long time ago. Looking forward to seeing records fall.
So how many times did your left foot look for the clutch pedal and your right hand on the stick shift?
Every once in a while I do it and I know many of you do it to in automatic cars. A friend would be with you. You go to start up the car and they hear "thud". They look at you and say try look for the clutch pedal in a automatic huh.
Good work on the build Daivd. Hope it holds up with slicks on and a well preped track.

Sorry but I can't complete the story with all that we found. The nice thing is rather than relying on someone else now we know this project very well. Everything can be done in house now down to the electronics.
I have to start working on what we need for an actual bolt in kit. Some of the parts will be CNC'd, some cast. We can do one kit right now and Nick Andy, who has also played a big roll in the casting side of this is in line for the first one, I surely owe him that much. Matt Smith who has also stuck behind me/Buschur Racing since 2003, is second in line. Matt's car is down for the Shootout waiting on me, he had the "other" trans in that him and I both broke so easily and has been patiently waiting for this one, I'm a week or two late on figuring it out to supply him with one. I've given him the maroon 1g we "built" for this weekend so he can race. I have a list of another 8-10 guys on my desk now too that want them and will contact everyone in the order I got their name/interest as we can build them.
Next up though is to make sure it will hold up for some length of time. We are starting with this one, which is all brand new stock parts and such to see what happens. I already have billet bad *** output shafts for it, which is what broke first in the "other" trans.
IF we can make it through this weekend with no hard parts breaking, next week we will build Nick's and get it in his car. From there we have to get the castings done unless I can some how source more old transmissions from overseas and they are tough to find.

I have to admit, I'm super impressed and happy for you. I know how hard that is to invest so much time and money into something only to finally have it come through. There is no better feeling in the world.
Well guys, it definitely WORKS! Ran 3 of the 6 autocross runs today and it worked perfect, I didn't run them all because this is still in testing. I then went and made the first 1/4 mile run in it. 30 psi, really really soft on the timing, 11.4:1 AFR, running the Dunlap tires I autocrossed on with 36 psi in them. I left the line on the foot brake at 3200 rpm, which was 3 psi. The pass was so smooth I wasn't sure what it ran..............9.94 a 140 mph with a 1.57 sixty foot. Tomorrow we are going to put the slicks on, Kevin is going to jump in it and run Quick class with it and see if it will hold up!
I like everything about this set up! if i buy it im going to replace the knob with a custom one from http://www.whatisflossy.com
