Bad Bish, the next generation-introducing the clutchless 4 speed.
Been super busy, hardly any time for the internet. I pushed the EVO to the side and have been waiting on a new controller from Andrew which I was promised Thursday but didn't get. I'm trying to keep this stuff in our little circle but it's getting tougher to be patient each day.
In the meantime I've been getting a 1g DSM auto build together I just bought a few weeks ago. It was running as of today but still has a list left that I want to finish Sunday, hoping for some test passes this coming week.
As for trans temps and trans coolers. We built 1/2 width radiators for this project. They have a cooler built in and then we run a separate cooler on top of that. Stall sems to be excellent but hard to test right now.

There are not enough hours in a day for me, never have been. Shop, family etc., balancing it all the best I can, some of you know...........anyway an update...
I mentioned I picked up a maroon 1g DSM for the Shootout coming up since our drag car doesn't look like it will be done, which will be a white DSM. I sidelined the EVO waiting on a new box to make it shift and still have not gotten it, over a week has passed since I was promised it.
In the meantime I finished up the maroon 1g, trans shifts great and is an auto. Now working on making it come up on the converter as the converter is too tight. We are going to try a different intake manifold, maybe tomorrow. Then maybe another set of cams and last resort will be toss some nitrous at it, swapping converters isn't an option at this point, too much other work to do. I have had two converters built by two different shops, my original converter shop I think has it close to right as it was working in Elvin's car. The one in my car has been built by a new shop I tried and I don't think it's going to work.
Next week I am moving back to the EVO and will find someone else to build a shift box for me if I don't have one here by then, I'm not sure what's going on but my time is up and so is my patience. I know this trans is going to work and I know it has the correct gears, it is not being told what to do though and I need a fix.

I worked on the car today, loaded it on the dyno, which I should have done long ago.
I have no verified there is no 3rd or 4th at any time, no default, not able to force it, nothing. I have R-1-2 and that's it. I am sure it's in the wiring/control box at this point. I can't imagine it being anything else.

I have put in quite a few hours on the project in the last few days. I got tired of relying on anyone else. My step dad, Rick, many of you know him, has been helping me, very good with wiring, schematics etc. After the last two days my thoughts that the problem has been 99% electrical is coming to an end. Today we took a spare complete valve body, laid it on the fender of my car, plug it into the harness on my car and ran it through the gears, each and every solenoid checked out. That tells us the Magic Box, after Rick fixed it, is good. Tomorrow we are going to load the car on the dyno and force the trans into each gear without the Magic Box. If after doing this we still have no 3rd or 4th gears..........we are going to swap the valve body AGAIN but this time with a good Magic Box since it is repaired. IF that doesn't do it then we will have to pull the trans again and see if something inside is wrong.......
I am determined to still have this done for the Shootout, going to try like hell anyway.

Dave you are my hero. I truly admire how you wont accept defeat. Keep up the phenomenal work! Remember the nothing worth having in this life comes easy! And after awhile by keeping your persistence your hard work will pay off! Good Luck Dave you've got a huge fan base rooting for ya!
