I know this is getting ahead of the project but I assume you are looking something that shifts lightning quick as well.
Good luck Dave. The results will be big when accomplished. (Notice I said when not if).

Thanks everyone for the support, it really-really helps with a project like this.
You know I started racing these 4g63's in the DSM's in late 1989, that's 23 years now. In all these years we've never had something that baffled us like this has. It's such a kick to the nads. The economy is poor, Mitsubishi once again stopped making bad *** cars and we are kind of hung out to dry because we were not smart like AMS and Switzer to go after the money cars and dump the EVO's. I have to stick with what I love, I'm not interested in Porsche's and GTR's or whatever. I like my damn EVO's!! This IS the future for the cars in my mind and will be a game changer for the EVO drag racing for sure. If the computer that is being worked on to control the trans works out it very well be a game changer for the EVO's in all motorsports, which will allow precise up/down shifts that are SMOOTH.
Anyway, update from this morning. The pressure gauges just showed up, I paid $125 on top of the $300 for the actual kit to have one over nighted in to overhaul this trans. My son and I buttoned up the 1g AWD auto project I had sitting next to my car today, got the rear end all back in it, axles, painted the parts etc. and pushed it outside. Now we have the full two bays in the rear of the shop just for my RS. Dave is coming in the morning, going to check pressure first thing and then he is going to start the tear down on the trans we took out this last weekend and the rebuild process. While he is doing that I'll get the trans that is in the car out of it and prepare to put the other back in tomorrow and test it before the end of the day..........we hope.
The other major thing is to find WHAT THE **** caused three separate transmissions to all act differently.
We have a few thoughts on it and we will see...........
The power right now on my car is "nothing". In other words I am just trying to get it to move in reverse and have four forward gears with basically no throttle in put. The car however makes 725 whp and 585 ft lbs on our dyno at just 32 psi of boost, so it will have to handle a lot of power when the time comes. I am really hoping that time is soon!
Again, truly, thanks for the posts, the interest and the encouragement, it REALLY goes a long way when **** is going poorly.

Dave you are a stubborn SOB, I will give you that! Hope you get everything buttoned up and tested before the shootout, I know we are all gunnin' for you to take it down the strip with an auto!
Dave, thanks for sharing the good and bad. After watching your work, I see things and think now "how would Dave B. do this?"
The subaru camp could really use your parts/creativity man, if u ever get bored pm me about that. Some subi guys know your capability, i'm one of them. Have a better week, pal.

Many things in life have been impossible until one person refuses to believe in impossible. Those people are game changers, they cut the "im" out. I know you can do it David!! BR cuts out the "IM"!!
Keep it up Dave! Reading you thread on this 4speed in the works has me pullin for you and the better of your EVO. I know you have the determination and the know how to make this happen!
Update.
Today we put the pressure gauges on the trans. While a few a little high or a little low they are very close to spec on all the ports, a total of 8 to check. This confuses the doo-doo out of me since in my mind if it has pressure in the right spots it has to have forward gears............
Dave is here pulling the valve body out to test the UD clutch and see if it applies and holds pressure. Depending on that answer it will lead us to the next step.
Master rebuild kit is here on my desk for one of the transmissions I have here, which one it makes it into is still unknown. BTW, stupid question but how does a master rebuild kit not come with something as simple as a damn filter? Yeah, not sure on that one. Had to order filters for tomorrow.

Following the thread closely.
If anyone can make this work, I have no doubt Dave can.
Once that's done there is this small matter of the TC-SST for the Ralliart and Evo X MR.

Long day today. Dave is meticulous. 10+ hours in the rebuild so far and it's not completed. Should be done now, Dave stayed at the shop after we all left or maybe first thing in the morning. Really hope to be driving it this weekend.
