Dave,

Ditch the GT500 and get this...

http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/...itemid=1254645

It'll get that mustang everywhere it matters... Well actually everywhere. It's turbocharged, runs low 11s stock, handles unlike anything you've driven... Trust me. I have a blue one and it is hands down the best car I've ever driven. Not at all what you'd expect. It actually drives better on the road than any of my other cars. The only drawback is that the AC isn't as cold as I wish but other than that it is a dream to drive.

And you obviously have never driven one... I seriously doubt you have ever out tracked an Enzo. Noble owners have. I own both an Evo and a Noble. The Noble is the better car... sorry.

Wes

Oh and to clarify that I'm not bashing Evos. I love my Evo. I drive it daily and I'm about to drop a 2.4LR with HTA86 in it. I love the car, it is absolutely great. Comparing the two is apples to oranges. I just don't care for folks dropping in without an ounce of knowledge on a subject and making subjective statements about something not being that great. They are both great cars. All good tuner cars are great cars, however, some cars are better at some things than others.

I'm not buying it, I've raced against a few, Winged Warrior and this weekend and they are turds from all I've seen.

haha, I didn't see your other statements about how much you like the car after you first post. There were two of them at Winged Warrior a few years ago, I think the video is around of them getting their asses kicked by EVO's all day. $69,000 for a used car that doesn't have nearly the potential of the GT500 isn't interesting to me. I'm glad you like it but from the 3 encounters I've had with them, all at competition events, either the car sucks or all three drivers did.

No worries Dave. I don't take it personally. There are only 220 of them total and they don't have the aftermarket support that all of the other cars do. Check out Darth Vader if you want to see a really fast one. There are some out there but they aren't as common as other platforms. I love mine just like I love my evo, camaro, and mustang. It is just different and out of the box inspires more driver confidence than any other car I've driven and I've driven a few...

Wes, we all like different stuff, that's for sure! You can't believe how many people are/were on me to buy a GTR, the car just has ZERO interest for me. I considered one for a bit but now after riding in one, I'm flat out not interested at all. The Noble has a mystic about it and when I saw two at Winged Warrior I fully expected an *** kicking......was anxious to run against them. In the end, it's really-really hard to beat a well set up EVO! haha, as you know. I've got a Shelby GT now, I really like the car, it's just not fast enough even with a Whipple 550 kit on it, it's ran 11.9 at 120 mph and feels slow as hell to me, boring. I still like the car and the feeling it gives me driving it. The GT500 I'm hoping is the same but will end up with a hell of a lot more power, I'll probably set a goal of 9.90's-10.50's with it and keep the car nice, even then I will probably find the power boring unless it's a bit buck wild in the wheel spin department!

I was sold on a GTR as well until I saw them race at Eagles Canyon. Once the brakes and engine compartment starts to heat soak on them they become dogs. They are extremely heavy. I liked driving the two that I've had the opportunity to. Hell one was an Alpha and it was a blast on the road but I don't know if I'd want to try and track it.

The Noble requires a ton of work to get it set up properly. I got a killer deal on mine and it only had 427 miles on it so I made out. The paint and body are perfect, however, none of the technical bulletins were performed and because it is such a small community I didn't know that there actually were any. So far I've had to disassemble the entire engine compartment and tighten it up to take care of cooling and oiling system problems (had a T that wasn't drilled out preventing coolant from the resevoir from reaching the rest of the system and the SPAL fans didn't come on), I've had problems with both of my eBrake cables, my alignment was wrong (too much toe-in), and the windshield wiper mechanism was jacked up and needed to be fixed. With all that said and done, I'm pretty confident that I can conquer anything that comes up with it in the future. Looking to weld some v-band connections on the cast manifold, upgrade the GT28s to HTA2868s, build my own v-band exhaust, build my own 3" intercooler piping, and install dry sum oiling. Since there isn't any concrete information on how to do any of this (people do these things but they are trade secrets and guarded closely) I am learning the car on my own. Which is exactly what I was looking for.

The Evo on the other hand is to become a pure accelerator. I'm hoping that you get this damn auto transmission stuff sorted so that I can get one. I'm sitting on a rack of parts and as soon as my 350z is repaired (got hit by a drunk driver) I'll be building it up. I'm actually running a number of your parts... COP, Radiator (which I need to send back to you all because I ordered one like yours but got one for the other side. I have a FF setup), Catch Can, Double Pumper, and Exhaust. I'm looking forward to going through it and learning the 4gXX a bit better.

Good luck with the GT500 if you get one! I'm sure it'll be a blast. I used to hate pulling up next to the 03 Cobras in my Camaro when they first came out. Cost me a lot of money in nitrous bottle refills...

Wow, that's quite the story on the Noble and lot to have to do with such low mileage! Glad to hear you are enjoying the work.

I put my money down yesterday on the car, it will be here by Labor Day I am told.

The auto trans stuff, if I am very-very lucky (which will be the first in a year) will be figured out this week. I exchanged e-mails yesterday and was told that this week it will be sorted out. It appears as though the online CD I bought originally for the trans wasn't nearly as indepth or detailed as the actual factory manual I found and bought.

I think the Noble's are very cool looking cars, but the drive train is a disappointment.
