FWD isn't what a evo is! That would suck so bad.

Dave sorry to hear about the bad news. I was checking FB all weekend hoping to hear good things about the auto. I hope this can get worked out and still keep the cost somewhat cheap. The funny thing is how cheap a DSM guy can get a built auto for and run 10's and 9's all season.

The DSM trans came in the DSM and is unbelievably well built, WAY over built for the cars they came in back in the day.

Going FWD with an EVO? WTF, no. If I was going to do that I'd turn the engine and put a TH400 behind it and go RWD if anything.

The trans that has broken twice now for us, once in Aaron's from English Racing's car, I am simply convinced will never work, too many weak parts in it.

So its not certain that the big truck trans cant hold the power until the shift box or wiring is sorted out. So theres still hope..!? Maybe you'll catch a break and be ripping it up at the shootout. Good luck man

David, Have you looked for a factory service manual for the vehicle? Have you put pressure sensors on the pressure monitoring ports? Pressure sensors aren't particularly cheap, but they can be very handy for figuring out what's happening. EvoScan v2.9 can read an ADC board that Hamish now sells. I think the board can read five analog inputs, and I think there are five pressure ports on these transmissions.

There is still hope for sure, I'm pretty confident in the actual trans holding up.

Three guys I consider smart have looked at the manuals, all three of them are at a loss to why it's not working. I have a fee ideas and may try them to see what happens.

ANY update? I'm at the point I either need to build my 5 speed or hold out for the auto.

The only update is I bought another trans that's never been apart and like new, had it overnighted to someone who is going to physically map out the hydraulics and electronics in the trans and get it to shift/work. He has the trans in his possession now and I am now at his mercy to figure it out.

No they are not easy to find, closer to impossible. I have people overseas now that I have bought a few from, three to date. I had multiple units lined up but when I started calling the guys on the list for trans builds they didn't want to risk buying the cores until the trans was in my car and proven to work. I guess I can't blame them. This last one I had lined up in advance and had the shipping handled to get this work done to it.

Our casting drawings are finished and awaiting final approval so we can get the parts cast/machined we need. I am putting a hold on all of it, I'd guess I am well over $20,000 into this project and don't have a single part I could install or sell at this point that works.

I really need to get this done, I am starting to get delusional not having a fast car to play with and started to close a deal on another turbo Buick today and tomorrow may order a GT500.....man I need my EVO finished.
