Yes, it's been gone quite awhile. That crowd is not for me, flat out ignorant, I wanted to build and sell parts for that car, couldn't take the people.

Wes actually you are correct I have never driven one, however I have worked on the same one a few times at a buddy's shop, Stage6 motorsports in Jacksonville... It has a ton of upgrades, and is still in my eyes a disappointment... The engineering of the engine layout and drivetrain was not well thought out IMHO... here is a link to the car.. http://fearless904.com/2012/06/10/a-sense-of-nobility/

All that matters really is that you are happy with it in the end!

It's funny how the mustang guys get such a bad rep. It is probably the most diverse owner group of all but they are problematic. The Dallas Cars and Coffee event has been completely destroyed by their lack of consideration for other people. I could go on and on about why this is but it would take pages of posts to say. They just aren't considerate of others and don't care that spectators generally come to those shows to see the unusual or uncommon. I saw a few vintage ferraris, a vintage lamborghini, and a SL-C at one event last year that was amazing. This year not much. I missed the aventador... Not a good crowd to associate with IMO.

I agree that the engine layout sucks. I'm not all that happy about needing to convert to dry sump to track it. I don't like the idea of relying on baffling. It's going to take some time to get her track ready...

Bumping this up since I'm waiting for Dave's blessing on moving my 5spd and tilton carbon in favor for some auto bad-assedness.

I'll stack it on top of the wheels in the corner of the garage then.

My updates are coming slowly but coming. The trans is slated for testing, it is going to be turned on a test stand and then have the solenoids/gears tested to make sure it works, I was told if all went well that was going to be done before the end of this weekend.

this is excellent news.

I see that Subarus are much easier to convert to auto and for drag racing it is the best option.

When you succeed ( i am not saying if...) your efforts and persistence will possibly change the EVO drag scene for ever!

Can't wait to see the end product!

Update today. The trouble shooting is done. The new electronic strategy is figured out and needs to be built by Andrew, who use to be in Washington state by English Racing.

The trans was sent to Kevin, Kiggly Racing and he put it through some bench testing to figure out the hydraulics and electronics. I have to thank him for his hard work, confidentiality and all the time he put into the project for me over the last few weeks.

At the end it seems that the largest problem we had was two bad transmissions, which really sucks.

Right now I am waiting to get my good trans back he tested and the new wiring from Andrew and then the car should be running again and this time, hopefully for a long time. Things for the Shootout just got a lot brighter!

awesome to here. i am no Auto trans guy so dont take this the wrong way. but in the future ''if'' this project makes it to the public how will you be able to determine that the trans's you buy for the project's are good? and if there bad how do you rebuild them to make them good or hold up to the guys who are feeding them a good amount of power?

again. the only thing i know about an auto is you put it in the letter you want to go. hahaha.
