Bad Bish, the next generation-introducing the clutchless 4 speed.
In the case of this transmission, I have this other unit I bought here last week. We are going to take some of it apart today and maybe test fit it into the car. If it's as good as I think it is I am probably going to drop the current transmission model we are using in favor of this. It is much more difficult to get but the parts APPEAR to be a TON stronger. I don't even know if it will go in the car though and if it will what else is compatible or isn't.
I'll be updating. If I fit this sucker in the car I'm going to be tempted to drive it with this 100,000+ mile greasy trans in it! haha
Could always shell out 15k for a sequential ^_^ haha. Just kidding...well kinda
Definitely subscribed for the final product!! Should be ridiculous on your set up. I'm placing my bets on 8.5-8.7

kind of thing? I say it's still cool none the less, I hope you make a super consistent setup that anyone can jump in pilot.
I mean an 8 second pass is an 8 second pass, but just wondered since you are doing it will a transmission that's not available in the USA Some folks might be whatever about it. DB 8.76@160 **Custom auto transmission**

The trans is available in the states, it's just not in the EVO. What about the guys who run custom $7500+ dog box transmissions? Add a $5,000 Tilton onto that and you've got a $12,500 set up.....
I don't care what anyone thinks about it to be honest. Haters are gonna hate as they say, I'm sure someone will say, "Yeah but it's an auto." Hopefully before it's all over there will be so many of them racing that most people think they came with that trans!
GregM, would it be OK if I sent you a PM to ask some questions? I see you have an 02 Airtek and finding information on those is nearly impossible.

Update. We figured out what this transmission is. It's unobtainable! It's crazy actually, this damn thing is so rare that even finding information on it is nearly impossible. We dissected the transfer case that came with it yesterday, it won't work. The good part is the transmission itself has the standard EVO output shaft in it, so we took my old broken RS T-case (which I didn't even know I had a box of parts, THANKS NICK YOU SAVED US ABOUT $2500) and Dan took some measurements. With some lathe work we got the RS EVO T-case mounted to this auto trans I have. I still need to put the trans up into the car and see if it fits.
I have a few guys searching for me now to try and find some of these, if there is only ONE available and I have it, it's good for me but bad for everyone else. We are trying to figure out the part number, which should be fairly easy now we have a VIN for it, there may be some left new in the system somewhere. Crazy ****.
Aaron is working on the 300m shafts for the original trans that broke and I plan to start on the planetary. I think the first step is just upgrading the shafts in it and do some creative welding and see if between the 300m shaft and that if it will hold up. Without a doubt, the best solution is what English and I started with, the transmission are readily available. It's just going to cost tens of thousands of dollars (for us) to get all the parts upgraded to make them last I think.
BTW, I heard from Andrew last night, he has the running car with the original style trans in it from English. He said he was going to be passing near our shop last night on his cross country drive. His car is running great and that trans has now gone from Washington State to Ohio with zero problems. Congrats Andrew and have a safe trip.

He has even managed 30mpg a few times so far
Thanks for the reminder Dave, I will give our guys a call and see where we are at. I am going to be a little further behind in testing than I had anticipated. The top mount mani I got fits god knows what turbo (not mine anyway) so I will be switching to a FF to hang with the cool kids.

Nope. GPS distance divided by gallons used.
4.13 gears with a big OD and 25.6" tires. I spent a lot of time working the tune to get the car to get the best mileage we could for their move. We've got 29 out of 5 speed IXs before, all relative to how flat the road is.

So true Aaron(about the gas mileage) I can get 50mpg in my Prius with no slope, but on hilly areas it's 43mpg. On the freeway, mild elevation changes become huge and I get wayyy better mileage on the flat ~40mpg roads.(max of 54mpg!)

Sorry, missed the posts here.
Yes, Dan, it will mean IF we can get this new trans I have to work and can find more of them then you can keep your EVO T-case. This is good news, money saved, along with other parts you would have needed that you won't now.
Actually if this trans I have works and we can get more it will mean you need:
1. Wiring
2. Shifter
3. Transmisison
4. Torque converter
5. Mounts
6. Flex plate
7. Trans cooler
The cost probably won't be much cheaper than the trans English and I are using now, the reasons for this is the trans is hard to find, the shipping required to get them or possibly some custom parts that will need to be made to make them work with the EVO. As of now we haven't attached it to the engine or even verified that the internals are worth a darn. That should be Friday. Hopes are the internals are bad *** strong, like the planetary and if so this one will get built and put in my car. We are also going to verify some other fitment details that may make finding these easier.
