I've been on a camshaft and turbocharger theoretical rollercoaster for the past few weeks. Didn't know you were doing this, but I knew you were up to something fishy.

Texas was TMF. Too much fun.

Texas is a crazy amount of fun.
I'll be down there next year, with my car built by you guys, which I hear just made it to Ohio this week.

Dave, maybe if you just put some miles on the new trans and let everything get broken in those newer parts might be able to hold up. How many miles did you put on it before you really got into it? You did say that it was a brand new trans, right? Or maybe you would come out better with a great condition used trans. Just a thought that I had.....

R/T, that's a tough roller coaster you are on, lots of big hills to go up and many to come right back down quickly!

lillev23, MILES?! hahaha Come on man, you underestimate me! I think it's about 3/4 of a mile from here until where the speed limit goes from 45 to 55 mph. When I hit that the trans saw 37 psi in 3rd gear! haha I then drove another 1/4 mile, turned around and it saw 33 psi in 1st and 9500+ rpm. Another couple hundred feet it saw 9700+ rpm through first/second gear. Then 3/4 of a mile later I tried to launch it and it broke! ROFL.

I'm waiting for Aaron/English to make the new output shafts, I have two on order for myself. I am in contact with a few shops now to look at the planetary set up. I'm also in pursuit of multiple other transmissions that may be able to work in the car. As I told my brother, "The car is going to have an auto transmission in it or it's going to get sold."

Just small input regarding planetary gears....maybe it can help.

We had the same problem on Peugeot 405T16 platform. We have two of these in transfer box ...one for central differential one for front differential.

Just FYI 405T16 road version have 4x4 and we have transfer box in which we have front and center differential.

Anyway first thing that brakes on planetary are the pinions holding gears so we have improved them first but then cage holding everything was found to be weak part also.
Only thing we haven't upgrade yet are the satellite gears as it would be too expensive for us .

These new parts are built from high strenth chromium molybenum steel.
Pinions are made form 32CDV13 and cage from 40CMD8+S.

Original parts are made of 16 MNCR5 steel and probably Mitsubishi stuff is made of something similar.

Here are some pics of these parts:
