Dave, now that you have swapped the transmissions will you be going back to a brake booster with a "vacuum pump"?

Is a paddle shifter a possibility in the future?

I sent you a PM to ask some questions. I'd assume your final drive is 4.13 no? That's what is in this trans. The ring and pinion in the trans is 3.30'ish.

I am hoping the answer to that is "no". When I first tried to hold the car on the foot brake it wouldn't do it. It just pushed at about 2800 rpm. Then I drove it those few miles and when I came back I really pushed hard on the pedal and it held up to 3800 rpm and then it let loose cause it broke.

I have had custom brake pads made just for the EVO stock brakes, front and rear, they are a very low heat pad and designed just for this type of brake boosting and stopping on a cold pad. I haven't installed them yet, so I after seeing the Hawks hold with a little heat in them from the drive I am hopeful these other custom pads will do even better.

Not sure how many of you went and looked at the twisted broken shaft but it's nuts how far it twisted.

Aaron is working with someone to make new output shafts and I have a good contact too. We will see who can get it done first.

Tomorrow we are going to tear the trans apart and inspect it, see if we can see anything else that may have been going, look at the frictions see if they seem to be holding and take a look at the custom parts we built and make sure they look good. I was hoping for 40 hard passes before we looked but, it is what it is.

I don't know if I can get some of the details you want, but will try.

No, the final drive in a GTA is 3.3, same as my Airtrek from what I understand. I did up a FD chart with ratios and that basically confirmed the 3.3 ratio.

I'd also like to point out that I've been trolling through Japanese car auctions for part of the day and think I'm going to have to get myself a Evo GTA, which I could get landed in NZ for as little as US$6-7000 on the road. So much for waiting a year before I get a car to race!!! Dam you

Stock converter chews another 13%. You wont be dyno queening the autos. What it loses in the converter only reflects in mph but not e.t. For reference Jeff's car drops from 1030whp to 802whp going from a manual to a REALLY LOOSE billet converter. It still runs 8.42@164 at 42psi though.
