Bad Bish, the next generation-introducing the clutchless 4 speed.
DO IT! Get that beast to the track and get some clean passes. I was thinking to help me with the Vegas heat I'm going to wire up a fan on the trans cooler with either a temperature switch or toggle switch to help keep it cooler when I get stuck in any traffic or stop lights. I'm planing on doing the same to the oil cooler.
I got a call today, trans is going together. This will be the first one, hard to hope for stellar results on the very first try but we will see. If I get it the install will start immediately. Mounts need to be built and who knows what else I'll run into.
My new trans is done! I pick it up tomorrow morning and hope to have the car running and on the road by Saturday some time. I'm extremely excited and nervous both!
Also picking up the original trans I broke, it's now repaired, using the stock shaft in it as English hasn't gotten theirs done yet. Going to send it to my friend Matt in North Carolina so he can get his car together for the June Sport Compact Race here and see what it will do!

Well got the trans from Vince today. It's not easy to install like the first trans. This diesel truck **** is HUGE and a VERY-VERY tight fit. I got the trans bolted to the block, the t-case bolted up, driveshaft in, exhaust on, drivers side axle in, air filter back on the turbo.
I have to take some measurements Monday off a good EVO to figure out the tilt and placement forward/backwards in the car and then build all three mounts to mount the trans in the car. I've tried everything we have and nothing works or allows it to be bolted in. The drivers side mount under the battery is going to be a PITA! The rear mount is going to be tough too. The front one I found something that looks like it may work, took some cutting/grinding and now needs the actual hole put in it for the mount.
The bracket that mounts the shifter cable is also different. My -10 AN hose that connects the water pump to the radiator needs to be built again.
I unfortunately have a funeral to attend on Monday so I'm hoping Tuesday I will have the car on the floor and running/driving. You can count on videos from the time it starts this time! haha
Aaron, does that mean there is no chance in hell in having that shaft to me by Tuesday of this coming week? If so we will ship the trans out, he is running out of time. You can shoot me a text if you like.

No real update. I've been super busy with a death in the family. The trans is "in", one axle left to hook up, ball joints, tires/wheels.
I have to make the water line to the pump over again, build a new shift cable mount, put the upper i/c pipe on, battery back in.
The tough part though is making all three new trans mounts. I just ordered a BUNCH of mounts from Mitsubishi today in hopes of being able to mix and match some mounts to make it bolt in. If not it's all going to be custom and a PITA.

The plan is to have it running for the Sport Compact Race the 2nd/3rd. I will be running the Max Effort Class. So a full day of autocross then drags. Then if all is going well we will throw the slicks on it and see what it will run.
Thanks for the condolences. It was my wife's grandmother. 92 years old, a real nice lady, she will be missed greatly.

David, first off Ive always respected or your work but I want to extend my condolences to you and your family. 92 years old is a long time to live so im sure she will be missed a ton.
Secondly, Im excited to see how much faster the bish will run once you are all set up and have the bugs worked out of this new setup. Good luck and we're rooting for ya to drag some near outlaw cars by their chins at the shootouts.
