Bad Bish, the next generation-introducing the clutchless 4 speed.
More work on the project today. I THINK we are norrowing it down. We wired the trans direct today with a cool set of test wires we made. We simply have no 3rd or 4th gears. Pulled the car back off the dyno and started to take it apart. Hopefully in the early morning it will be buttoned back up and we will go back to testing. If what we fixed isn't it, we will try one more time with a different part, if that's not it I have another plan..............not a cheap one but a plan.
After reading this entire thread i now know what you were talking about when you pointed at the valve body on the fender and talked about the trans. Good luck with all of this and glad to see multiple shops working on a huge step forward for the community. I'll be working on getting my clutch fixed and stopping my car from shocking the hell out of you Dave.

Bump for updates!
From what I remember you mentioned that this was going to be only a clutch-less type setup but have you changed your mind in offering a full auto option once you get things worked out with this version?

In the final hours leading up to the 20th Annual DSM/EVO Shootout......we finally got it today!!!!!!
Not only does the trans work, it works GREAT! Not only does the trans work but the torque converter also seems to be dead on!!
All the frustration, hard work and money spent were all forgotten today when this finally worked out for us. Sadly the problem was something simple, which we figured it would be, and sadly it was from bad information we got.
I am very happy and proud to say that Vince actually figured it out today on the phone, Rick my step dad did some wiring for us and Dave did all the trans building over the last month or two. This was not an easy project, quite possibly the hardest project I have ever done in the 23 years of doing this stuff.
We drove the car quite a bit today around town to make sure it shifted good. Then ran it through 1-2-3 at WOT twice, 30 psi it is so smooth it almost seems slow! Remember my car made 725 whp at 32 psi on our dyno and the trans is holding great. We also launched it once and it comes up very quickly on the torque converter and leaving at just 3200 rpm the car left about 80' of solid black marks in our shop parking lot!
I am looking forward to running in Max Effort on Saturday with the car and if it holds up putting the slicks on for Sunday, I think I'll let Kevin have a try at it so I can work on the event itself.
Thank you all for the motivation and support over the last 9 months on this, it helps to have a good crowd behind you to keep you pushing on.
