I have somewhere in the region of 420 lbs/ft on E85 through my 6-speed... 3rd gear synchro is totally crunching now though (and I never launch or do hard shifts - it happened right after the TOB broke on my ACT HD and I couldn't select gears at all - after it was fixed, 3rd gear crunches in and out). I'm getting it rebuilt by Shep pretty soon - they have a couple of options - a 400WHP option and a 600WHP option for the 6-speed... I'm going to probably go with the 600WHP version to be safe..

Thanks!

I have a 5 spd in mine but am putting the stock 6spd back in it to sell it. It's just a much better dd with the 6spd in it.

Bringing this back since I have been researching a lot into a 5-speed swap.

I have an 8 MR with around 130k. 2.3L FP Black @ 24psi, 93 pump, 410hp/380tq Mustang dyno. Previously was running an FP Green (360hp/360tq) Always used OEM Diaqueen (changed around every 20k), never launched, never tracked. Have had zero issues. Current clutch is an ACT XTSS.

I don't really ever plan to track my car, so maybe I'll keep the 6speed and do the oil cooler for insurance. Interesting to see what others are pushing for power and their driving applications. Appreciate all the info.

If you haven't launched or tracked it, I think you'll be fine for short bursts that are typical of street driving. Oil cooler would be an extra measure of insurance.

The Shep gear set is about $3k, and then any wear items need to be purchased, and install is needed. TRE only rebuilds. He says that he can get another 100 ft-lbs torque holding capacity (up to 400 ft-lbs) by shotpeening and honing the gears. He isadamant that the 6-speed is not a solution for extended high horsepower/torque abuse.

Thanks. TRE seems to have a more thorough solution but I've heard mixed reviews w/ his service...

my trans has about 45k on it and seems just fine.

Is it worth installing a cooler on it if I only plan to daily drive it? realistically i never have and never will road course the car, but i could see making a few 1/4 passes with it some day. I really do not want to have to remove the transmission anytime soon
