NOT IF YOU PUT THE PROPER FILTER OIL ON IT. I LOVE MY HKS IT GAVE ME A LITTLE BOOST ON THE TOP END. I THINK ITS THE BEST OUT OF ALL THE INTAKES.

Why do you always scream at us, dude? That's the perception of CAPS.

Do you mean a little boost of speed or a little boost of PSI?

I did a little "ghetto" tunning on my own using nylon mesh inplace of the stock elemet. I ran on a clear, clean day as this mesh will not stop anything smaller than sand and yes, I went back to stock asap to protect my turbo blades. Besides the noise level, I could detect no differences at all. To add a little perspective, I can really feel the diff between 91 and 98 octane fuel. Stock seems fine for a stock car. If anyone has empirical data to support a power gain from an other wise stock car, please post.

If you like the stock set up and haven't done that much modding why not go with the K&N drop-in filter? Thats what i'm using in my car and haven't had any problems with it. Its a better filter than the stock one, uses the stock cold air box and doesn't messes up the MAF sensor.

I am not diasagreeing with you. It def. has more power up top. However, the word "boost" can also mean something else when you have a turbo car.

HKS I would agree flows higher volumes due to its less restrictive foam design, however this also means allowing other things into the intake tract, directly into the turbine.

If you do a search, there is a link to a comparison of four major intake filters: A'PEXi, Blitz, HKS, and K&N. In a turbo Nissan Skyline, the HKS collects the most dust and makes the least power gain. The A'PEXi comes out best in both areas.

I have the A'PEXi. It sounds great and the car has much better top end. I think it leans out the AF ratio.

Got an HKS Super Megaflow Filter, nice whoosh sound and you can hear the venting a liitle louder and good throttle response.

I've got the huge RMR filter W/O the induction pipe. I plan to get the induction pipe soon though. I believe the RMR filter is made by K&N. And did I mention it's huge?

Guys, check this thread out....

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=82047

The graphs show a 11whp gain for the HKS RS suction kit compared to stock box with a K&N drop in....
