I am going with RnR 3" polished intake with my K&N cone filter. Will only cost $200 for everything. That's not that bad.

take from it what you will...but this is independant testing with no ties to any manufacturer (a bias you might find in a magazine or on a vendor's website)...

I wouldnt even get an intake... I had the AEM on thier, and nothing but LEAKS! Since it is a hard pipe, when the engine shifts during regular driving, the pipe cannot flex becasue it is a hard pipe...so, i had to keep tightening..back and forth... it was pointless... had boost leak constantly from it. I just put back the flex OEM piping. with an open element filter on the end.. works great.. nice spool up sound, deff increase in performance, and no tightening once a week. An intake, to me, is pointless on the evo.. just get the filter..you'll be happy

same thing with aftermarket recir. BOV... kept leaking..sucked!

So, i slapped on an MR recirc. valve...best **** ever!

is it the pipe or the filter that causes a/f problems?

does any one know or tested the two by themselves....The setup I am going to go with is the blitz drop in, the blitz airbox cover and either a samco intake hose(not pipe) or a dejon hard pipe to the stock airbox

The pipe itself is what will mess with your a/f not the filter.

Even if it is 'good', be advised that it may not give good results if one just slaps it on the car without any electronic tuning.

get the APS cold air. You wont regret it. Ram air intakes will just suck all the heat in. If you dont want to do the APS then go for the K&N drop in filter.

i love the APS cold air intake, would had bought it over the hks rs, but i didn't have the $$$ for the intake and water res. relocater kit...

but, doesn't the air just get heated up by the turbo anyway?

I have the injen and like it alot. It has helped some, but as someone earlier stated, with my exhaust and intake i do think the car has slowed down. As soon as i get a boost controller and fuel pump its time for some dynoflash
