ACD Pump gurus. Not your basic question. I need help
Some info in my experience... My 3 lights were on.. pump worked, but the system couldn't build the pressure (probably a leak in the block) Under warranty they replaced the entire pump/pressure block.
Just out of the curiosity. I was brain-storming this issue and came up with this question.
If enough air were present in the system, it may not be able to reach the required pressure to meet the pressure switch requirement?
And this is the reason why the pump is not turning on?
What do you think? Because when the lights were on, and I stepped on the gas the pump was not activating. Then after putting the pump back in after checking, and stepped on the gas, the pump activated for a few seconds. The second time we stepped on the gas it didn't activate again. Don't you think that when I pulled the pump out it reset the ECU and when it activated, it saw the error and stop sending signal to the pump?

If it doesn't start at all.. then you can have an electrical problem (fuse, ecu, relay, wiring, pressure sensor)
however, if it starts, and you get 3 lights after a minute or so of driving, then you have a shot pump...
Air in the system can cause 3 lights on, but you would have to have really low ACD fluid level to get air in the system... then you have an airlock and pump can not produce any pressure..
Get that pump overhauled.
I just relocated my acd pump to the trunk and was trying to bleed it with direct battery power from a jumper pack. The motor will run and the pump does pump .... however after about 5 seconds the pump continues making pump sound while the level doesn't really go down. I tried this with the bleeder screw cracked wide open and closed with the same result. Any idea whats going on?
