Does this setup still use the Evo t-case and rear diff? If so, would those still be two items that a "serious" Evo drag car would want to upgrade?

Yes, it uses the stock rear diff and an EVO T-case BUT the T-case has to be sent in to use to be machined to work.

The T-case and rear diff in the EVO are strong and proven reliable to run 8's. With the auto all the "shock" that is sent through those two parts to break them, is basically eliminated with this trans. The driveline is pre-loaded at the line and then stays loaded the entire run, this will make the rest of the driveline live even longer.

I may have to consider this. I can put off trying to score something like a GTR further on (or eliminate it altogether.

So you would advise me against spending money on building the t-case and rear diff for an Evo that's being built to run high 8s?

If you get the auto those parts will be very less likely to brake. I wouldn't build them.

Yes, I'd skip putting huge money into a t case or diff if you are going to run the clutchless trans. Obviously the ones you have can't be worn out junk and expect them to hold up.

I am not doing this auto setup at this time. Sticking with a built tranny and Exedy triple. May go with this setup a few years from now.

Better build it or great ready to. Wheel hop and drivetrain shock will kill any t case/ rear end FAST.

I'm going to have to agree here. Wait until all the huge bugs get sorted out the upgrade when i KNOW there are ZERO issues, and cost to go down.

And why would you expect the cost to go down? Has healthcare costs gone down or up? How about gas prices? Food?

Looks to me that you'll be waiting for the rest of your life
