LOL.
If this comes in under 10k I think it would be a good deal.
BR/ER are essentially re-engineering a transmission for this car that can handle performance. Hell BR is having new casing made.
Price out a brand new Auto trans from any car maker. And those are slush boxes. Now compare the price of a DMG/SMG or similar transmission. I know this doesn't have the tech those cars do but the performance will be similar. This will be cheaper then one of those trans brand new.

OK, maybe not dropping drastically but a couple hundred. Stuff is always going to be most expensive when first released.
I will guarantee the price will never go down. I've got over a year in this, no e of it has been easy.
English is not working on this trans by themselves or with me. I don't even know if they are working on one at all at this point, my guess is they found out what I did, the original one is simply too weak.

Got the initial drawings back for the new billet case parts for the clutchless four speed! Things are looking good. They are now engineering an additional shaft for support and working on cutting the weight down! Thats from his Facebook page.
Great News BR, I've just started in the cnc/ machinist field and can only imagine the amount of issues they will need to sort out for this product to work safely and reliably. I look forward to the progress.
Good Luck!
Good Luck!
Simply Awesome!!!!!
Hey Dave I just wanted to say that you are doing great things. This trans may just have to be something I save for. I like all your posts, they keep all of us updated with whats going on. Everyday we go out on a convoy, and all I can do is think "what has David done today." I will be waiting for the next big update.
Thanks again
Thanks again
Yes, I've been in contact with the CNC company, they sent the initial drawing of the finished part over last week. I've asked them to lighten it up quite a bit, as it is 3.5 times heavier than it use to be, I figured double but that much extra isn't acceptable. They are now doing the really hard part and engineering a way to add an additional shaft that is needed to the trans to insure that it is going to be bullet proof on the end that keeps breaking. It is moving along though and that's what is important.
Three transmissions never made it into cars. My car has run on it, Matt's car ran on the original style that is never going to work and then Matt attempted to install the same one I am running but ended up with issues and it didn't work.
I see no reason when this is done that it can't be used for daily driving, I'd guess that is going to depend also on how hard you beat on it, how much power the car makes etc., as with all things it's going to wear out sooner or later. The more power and abuse the sooner it's going to happen.
Redbud23, thanks for your service and while it's a hell of compliment being on your mind when your on patrol..........do me a favor, watch for those bastards who are trying to take you out and think about my projects when you get back to some type of safety
!
