Nothing good. We got the CNC'd parts. More machining on our end was needed, trans was in and out multiple times to get fitment right. Thank God for Ricky and his bad *** milling talents. Once it was in something new we did to the valve body was done incorrectly, trans locked up, took it apart about 6 more times with no success. Dave and Ted busted their asses but ended in failure. Tuesday we tried something else, ended up with a noise, limped it back to the shop and now the trans is out on the floor. Hoping to find the issue today. It should have worked instantly this time but that initial mistake is what hurt us it seems.

Not counting time and labor this is probably about a $60,000 project right now.......that's a major portion of a GTR.....

Jesus... Then people wonder why quality parts are so expensive. This is why. Some/most of the parts we build and fabricate we will NEVER make our money back. Glad ppl like you are pushing forward with a goal in mind.

Trans was taken out today. We found multiple problems. One was with more incorrect machining on the CNC'd housing. This caused a lot of metal to be chewed up and it went through the trans. Also found one of the clutch packs pretty smoked, which doesn't surprise me with the crap that has been wrong so far. We found nothing that could have been making the noise we heard though, guess we will have to try and pin point that when it goes back in.

Making my money back on this at this point is probably never going to happen. The trans kit now is going to be about $10,000, so I'm not sure how many will ever sell.

Drove out of state today to recover our old trans and some spare parts from the CNC shop. Tomorrow we will need to make another freaking road trip to get the rebuild kits and more parts. Hoping the trans is R&D-assembled tomorrow and ready to go back in. Way too many other projects right now...

Trans is ready to go back in and will be installed Monday. I hope it works, not sure I can take much more disappointment.

The trans is back in the car and working now. Just need to find the time to take it to the track for testing now.

dave did you put in the "original" transmission in the car or the CNC'd unit? And glad to hear everything is back together hopefully it will hold up.

The CNC'd unit is in, the original stuff is a waste of time.

I wonder when Mitsubishi will be knocking on your door wanting to buy the design.
