Evo 8 with MAP EF2.5
I'm going to shoot for late this week, but I really want to get a zeitronix enthanol analzyer first, just so theyre no ill fated problems
I thought about the EF2 but I didnt want to be limited to 420whp (mustang dyno) I loved what the EF3 did up top and though hey lets find something in between. After seeing Krackas EF2.5 on the X, I asked Chris Carey if they would build it and said game on so...
Also I wanted a turbo to go with a 2.3 whenver that day may happen and this thing would be insane with a 2.3 or 2.4. (Of course that'll probably change once I have 2.3)

With a 2.3 or 2.4 maybe. My buddy has an absolute freak stock motor and it put down 418/386. At 30+ psi. The other handful of evos with EF2's locally all have put down less.
Tune's going to be after the 18th of March. My tuner is headed to Arizona for Modified Magazines Race event so he's a busy guy right now :/...oh well gives me a little more time to get my Zeitronix ECA
have you swapped the turbo's yet? Any opinions or thoughts compared to the EF3?
I wonder how the EF2 on the Evo X compares to the 8/9 version as far as wheel dimensions and flow because the EF2 for the Evo X has put down 498 WHP on a dynojet.
Honestly the EF2 seems very comparable to the BBK Full....
Yes sir the EF2.5 is in, its hard to tell any difference as of yet. We turned down boost about 3psi after clutch install. And I havent taken it above 4k rpms haha. When I was on the freeway and gave it some throttle, the spool was very quick (thats at 3k rpm @70ish miles an hour).
Personally I think running a large laggy turbo on a stock block for the sake of keeping the stock rods intact is stupid. There are better ways to control low RPM torque, and you will have a much more street-able power band with the smaller more appropiately sized turbos for the stock block. A win-win IMO.
With that being said, the EF4 is actually laggier than the FP Black, and personally too laggy for me. I think the EF3 would be your weapon of choice and full boost by 4200-4500, and no doubt can reach 400 WHP on 91 octane with the right supporting mods.

anyways IM SURE the ef3 would be 2X as good for a stock 2.0l regarding powerband, but like ive stated earlier I hate to do things twice and I want to buy 1 and only 1 stock frame turbo and if i ever wanted more than 650whp (i will because im a boost *****) then I will go hta3586 or borg warner something or other.
trust me man I was looking into the fp black for the 100-400rpm of faster spool over the ef4 (every setup is different as you know) but if i send in my IX turbo the ef4 price can not be beat unless we are talkin about the kiguawablahblah 25g 11.5 hotside turbo. I wouldnt run that turbo just because it really hasnt been proven (totally off topic srry ef2.5 guys lol)
