Should have it on the dyno soon. Just switched to e85 so trying to flush out all of the old gas.
what horsepower are you hitting with 45psi?

A few gaskets and seals will probably work. Honestly, I would stay away from cheap gaskets and seals. I would go with OEM or felpro. I use the EVO 8 engine gasket kit from AWD motorsports. It comes with every seal for a rebuild except a throttle body gasket. If youre going to spend the time to rebuilt an engine, do it right.

No idea. Im guessing 700+ the way it pulled having driven in a few 700+ hp evos. We were not logging numbers, just dialing in the fuel maps and started playing with the EBS and timing.

Alright sounds good thnx for the info... So other then the water pump nearly all the evo block parts work on the 4g64? for example oil pump case, thermostat housing, crankshaft sprocket, pulleys...

Does the girdle from the 63 work with the 64?

The t-stat housing is part of the head to that will carry over with the swap. All the pulleys, tensioners, oil pump cover, oil pan, sump, oil scraper, ect.. will carry over.

As far as the girtle goes, I most likely cannot be carried over. Each one is machined to the block it was meant for. If you want to carry it over, you will need to have it align honed but I would not recommend doing that, hoping that its still on center with the block.

Well, I use all the gaskets with the kits except the water pump. They are the exact same block. Using a 2003 Outlander water pump gasket works. Since you are carrying over the evo 8 head, oil pump, oil filter housing and oil pan, all the gaskets are usable.

Are there any stock 4G64 Cam gears that just line up or must you gamble with adjustable gears? My car has fidanza and I am suspect that the gears are not correct.

I read in another post when doing some research that you can run the DOHC 4G64 gears with the 4G64 belt and they line up.

I went to the AEM adjustable ones because because Im running the 4G63 evo 9 kevlar belt. The adjustment makes up for the shorter belt.

The main thing to keep in mind is to have the dowl holes in the cam to line up with the valve cover marks.

The only dual Cam 4G64 I can think of is the old style Galant and those gears have different timing marks. Does the single Cam gear work just in a pair?

The SOHC Cam gear will not work. My block was a SOHC engine out of a stratus and I held up the EVO 8 stock to the SOHC one and they were off.

Using the 4g64 head gasket is there any modification needed? Any who has used the cometic conversion gasket? That is what was in my engine when I got it, and found that it is leaking under boost so now need to decide whether to go back to a cometic or try the OEM version. I know AMS used a 4g63 and ported the bore to fit the larger cylinders.

I used a stock gasket and have no issues and my motor is 10.5:1. I have stock valves with GSC S2 cams.
