Just downgraded from the Green to the 71, dedicated discussion thread below:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...l#post11598486

Hey guys,

I just downgraded from the Green to the HTA 71 and I have some results.

I tried to make this an apples to apples comparison, but there are some differences in the temps, tune and boost, none-the-less, I think you'll get the point.

My goals were to pick up mid-range torque, think i did that in spades with very little sacrifice in top end.

Notice points at 3000 and 3500 rpm's, there's an increase of ~100 & ~75 ft/lbs respectively.

Also note that from 5200 to redline is almost a wash, a bit more tuning should be able to get my top end in line.

Also note the 4.11 FD and 10º air temp change.

The car feel MUCH more responsive, actually feels much faster

These results have me stumped.

trying to revive an old thread.
hoping to have inputs

So I'm about to have my jdm7 tuned. Im from the Philippines.
here are the list.

2.0 gsr 7 engine
fp71hta / stock frame / 10.5 hot side
HKS mushroom filter with MAF
HKS down pipe
agency power catbcak
grimspeed 3 port ebcs
comp 280 cams I/E
greddy LS kit (intercooler and pipes)
walbro 255
fic 950

I will have my catalytic removed before tuning and run on test pipe.

Question is, what are the possible figures that I might get for these? so that I know that my tuner is doing fine. Tried searching and I find different inputs (most because of preferred petrol).

Thank you so much.

You could make as little as 380-390whp if your fuel is like the crappy 91 octane here in NV and CA. Good 93 octane pump fuel here in the states would probably get you 400-420whp. E85 you could push to the 450-475whp range depending on hard you go the turbo.

wow. I'm good with those figures. Will be using the 7 just for streets. I'm aiming 370whp and now I'm amazed that with this mod list I can go higher. I'm running on stock valvetrain just to mention.

those cams will help your peak power, though cost you down low. This turbo spools so fast, you may not mind.
I had the smaller hot side, TiAl wheel, and small cams. I believe i was at 20psi around 3200 RPM or so. It was awesome. Most fun I've ever had in my car.

I have had my 71hta for about 5k miles now and everything is great. Some of you guys that have had the turbo a few years now how is it holding up at those higher boost levels after all this time? I'm looking forward to keeping this turbo awhile since I DD and rarely go to the track.

I sold mine off to buy a green because I felt like i was working it too hard. I now make a tiny bit more power, but at safer levels.
Definitely not as fun around town. At all.

if you dont mind. What are your last figures with the 71hta? And mod list if its alright with you.
Some manages to produce 450-470whp with this turbo.

For me I wont be pushing it too hard. For street and daily driver needs only.

I did 450/400 at 30psi on E85. That was with a 100% stock long block. If I were to add some cams I'm sure it could have hit 475whp, maybe even a little more.

I'm not the best person to ask. My mods list is very modest. I even ran the stock air inlet and UICP. Combine that with the smaller hot side, and my numbers are quite a bit lower than most. I don't have my dyno sheet here, but I'm thinking 430-450whp on e85 before running out of injector. If you're still curious, I can check when I get home and post the plot.
