Easy there, cowboy. You wanted to settle this through PayPal and PayPal told me to file a formal complaint so before you get your panties in a bunch, go reread what I wrote and carefully contemplate on how you've decided to go about this...

Unfortunately, you work there and are routing calls / texts through there so the shop is involved whether you want them to be or not

I don't get why what is did is so "bad". I assumed the turbo was a BB turbo, as it was sold to me as one with a receipt and everything from the previous owner. FP proved it wasn't, so I am sorry about that but I am willing to make it right.

I've been called a scammer now, getting reported to IS3, etc etc etc. I'm willing to accept a return and return the money to the buyer. Everyone needs to relax honestly.

Because you LIED. You said in your ad that you called FP and and they verified it was a BB turbo, when you clearly did not. And you still haven't produced this mythical invoice that shows you had reason to believe it was a BB turbo. And now you're complaining that OP is going to IC3, when you yourself said you'll see what paypal wants to do with it. Well, that's what paypal is telling the OP to do. You could end this by giving a full refund, with return shipping costs, but you for some reason refuse to do so.

The receipt I have isn't real. It doesn't match the info on the receipts FP posted. So I received a fake from the person I bought it from which means it's irrelevant.

I'm offering a refund, but not until I have the turbo back in my possession. If I refund now, he will be able to keep the turbo. That's not happening.

This isn't how it works. Send the refund through PayPal and then the buyer ships it back.

If I were the buyer there would be no way in hell I'd be sending that turbo back to you before getting a refund.

You said you would give him a full refund, so make it right and do that so that he can stop dealing with this as well.

But you CLEARLY lied about contacting FP to verify it was a BB turbo. Why should the OP trust you to refund him once you receive the turbo, especially now that he knows you've lied, and attempted to perpetuate that lie on a public forum. When you sold the turbo, you requested/received payment before shipping it out, correct? Why should OP not receive a refund/payment before he shipping it back? That is how transactions work between individuals, you receive payment BEFORE shipping goods.

Because that's what paypay does. they will make him send the turbo back and then give him a refund. That's how it works.

I can't even refund him since there is a case open. If I try and refund it says you are agreeing to close the case. If the case is closed then he can technically keep the turbo and not return it. So no I am not doing that.

I did contact FP. So no I didn't lie about that. I assumed it was a BB turbo. I didn't know... it was a mistake holy ****.

PayPal has a hold on the funds. I cannot refund him. If I do it closes the case. Then I am not covered and if he doesn't send the turbo back I am screwed. So I have to wait for the PayPal case to end.

IF it was truly a mistake, you would refund the money, and close the case.

Your only real option now is to refund and agree to close the case and add in a comment about him shipping the turbo back. Do you really expect he's going to keep it after this whole fiasco and tarnish his whole name on the forums? I doubt it. He said he wants nothing to do with it, why would he keep it.

The world isn't out to get you, but you are making it seem like they should be.

No you don't, you can make it right and end it now. All you're doing is digging a deeper hole for yourself by dragging it out

i'm sure when someone is selling a $2,000 turbo they only "ASSUME" that it is ball bearing... what a guy!... now it's "JUST" a mistake...

He was told by the person he purchased it from (not FP) that it was BB, he had no reason to believe it wasn't. Unless you did what OP here did and questioned it, why would anyone second guess that a seemingly-new turbo was being mis-advertised

I don't think anyone understands how PayPal works. They are holding the money. I do not have the money. If I close the case I am not covered. I am not closing the case until I have the turbo in my possession. Period end of story. Think what you want, I really don't care anymore. It was a mistake, I know it was. I thought it was a ball bearing turbo. I'll make it right for him but I am definitely not getting screwed out on a turbo. There's no way that's happening because it has before.

Exactly. Thank you

I can't even do anything about it because I bought it more then 45 days ago so I'm screwed. I paid $3000 for a $2000 JB turbo LOL.
