would it really be necessary? it's a small turbo for small output. it already spools really quick. does it really need more?
i wouldn't mind a BB option, just for funsies, though. man.. the transient response would be nuts.

Owen Developments offers a BB upgrade to their 71HTA http://www.owendevelopments.co.uk/pr..._Evo_IX_71HTA/

Given their working relationship with FP, I would be surprised if FP couldn't do the same.

I'm sure they could put the stock turbine in a Xona center section with a 71hta wheel for $2500 71hta...lol. Would be pointless. I rode in a local guys 71hta car, boost threshold faster than a stock turbo (he had ported everything and hks 272 cams, built short block) and transient response on shifts was on par with my bb red (maybe faster lol), and it makes the same peak power as my car with 50wtq more thanks to able to push it down low with the built block.

You are speculating at the price. There are advantages to a BB center section and some people don't mind paying for them. Anyways, FP says they don't do a BB option for their 71hta. I will check with Owen on pricing just out of curiosity.

at first, i was like, "hey... those are stock IX turbo numbers"... then i saw it was a Mustang dyno LOL.

i'd be more than happy with those numbers. i really like how fast these things spool up. i should have some numbers by the end of this week. i'll start tuning the boost curve tonight. timing and AFRs are mostly spot on, at the moment.

Mustang dyno, like you said, and 26psi..lol. A 9 turbo would need to be cranked up to a ~30psi spike tapering to 22-23 to make those numbers on a dynojet...lol

It'll do 350whp on 91 on a dynojet. I did 350whp on VD with GSC S2's, the ETS 3.5" intercooler, and a 9 turbo at 25psi tapering to 18psi..

Maybe. But I only have a mild 264 cam, LICP, TBE, and a cone filter. That's about it for power mods.
