Your vision of ultimate street setup

I know this has been beaten to death but I'm looking for people's opinions on turbo options for 500+ whp on 93 and 600+ on E85. There is alot of old info out I dont wanna be relying on. I'm leaning stock frame because I wanted to keep the car from having an O2 dump. I am open to all options. Looking for fastest spool to these hp goals. Was thinking fp black or a twin scroll hta 3582. I'm going a 2.3 if that will change anyone's opinions.

2.4
9:1 for pump gas friendly tuning
fully prepped/ported MIVEC head GSC R2 cams
divided T4 hot parts kit
all other supporting mods fuel/ignition/intake/exhaust etc.
35r variant of your choice (mine is pt6266 gen2 in 1.15 turbine housing)

I'm hoping for 600 on 92, close to 800 on ethanol and spool somewhere in the low-mid 4k range.

the Black should meet your goals, my last turbo kit was a MHI BB fpBlack with a MAP external dump O2 housing. I made 568 on 92, and 654 on e85

Buschur 2.3rpm and the PTE 6466 was a blast on my car the last couple years. I decided to try a 6766 this year to see if I can hold a little more power out the top. If it doesnt work as well as i'd like i'll be going back to the 64. The AMS kit I have on my car is a recirculated o2 housing. And I ran Buschur's exhaust with 2 mufflers, its decently quiet and still made ~840whp dynojet

500+ and 600+ leaves a LOT of options on the table. You need to be a lot more specific on what your actual goal is. What is the max power you're looking to put down? That will narrow the options significantly.

My definition for ultimate street car setup is smallest turbo to reach your power goals. Based on your hp numbers, that's going to be the new FP 57 or an FP Red.

Even with a 2.4, the bigger turbos won't spool until 4500 to 5000 rpms...which really takes the street car "fun" out of the equation. Black, even with an MHI housing, won't spool until 4500 rpms or so.

If you want 800hp and have it still be "fun," get a car with more cylinders. Who the hell takes a 6466 into the canyons or twisty back roads? lol That is strictly a highway vehicle IMHO.

I guess people's definition of a fun street car are different? He never said he planned on going around corners so my answer is based off of how my car is built, and I enjoy the hell out of it. I have no desire to go around corners so this suits my needs very well, and maybe his if he wants

Obviously people want different things, but count me as someone who doesn't understand handicapping one of the great capabilities of an Evo in order make the car one dimensional.

Haha. We sound alike. Don't get me started on that subject. Every time I see people take awesome-handling cars and .....
Never mind LOL

My version of a ultimate street car probably differs from most. Like my signature says I have two Evo's, a IX for the track and a X as my DD. My goal with the X is to make it as fun as possible without blowing a ton of money on it, i'd rather invest it into the race car. I am working within the limits of the stock block, I have no intentions of building it seeing as its a street car. I want the OEM reliability and want it to start no matter what. I've always been more of a power under the curve guy as opposed to a peak horsepower guy. I want quick spool, lots of low end and mid range torque, and the "put you back in your seat" feel. My X is currently on the stock turbo with full bolt-on's on 91 and it makes a healthy 360/360 at 25psi on 91. Next plan for the car is to upgrade the turbo to a MAP EF2 which is still a very quick spooling, street friendly turbo as well as convert it to flex fuel so it'll be the ultimate street setup. On E85 it should do around 500whp and i'll keep the torque around 400wtq. So to answer the question my ideal street setup is not a ton of money invested, small turbo, oem reliability. On my IX I use a 71hta on E85 making 450/400 and its a monster.

A red (twinscroll), a 2.2 or 2.3 with good headwork and proper cam and manifold selection would be a fun street car. Even on ACN 91 octane it could probably eclipse 450whp. It might not mop up on freeway pulls, but it would be a fun canyon car with a good broad powerband. On E85 it's perfect.
