Going on three years and mine still looks like new. It's held up to oil spills, carb cleaner, down pipe heat ,rocks ,and more. So far ,so good.

Yes, I was referring to trap doors not closing tight when I was thinking about leaks. I don't know if having 4 doors is better than 3 or 2. But it is absolutely better than none (oem)!
I may have asked it before but was too lazy to go back and read old posts. Lol
I need to work on my cars but am feeling lazy. Haha

I will clean the grease off the hinges. One of my drap door was stuck wide open before I pulled it down for a picture.

Is it just me or is the oem pan rusting? Is it not stainless steel?

They will get surface rust when exposed to air. Our oil pans are not stainless steel. That would kinda sweet, though.

Yes, when new and without oil in them, they don't always flop around. Also covered earlier in the thread and at the top of the Google doc I sent you guys. My pan is the same way. I ran the car until the oil was hot then dropped the pan to be sure they worked better. It was ****ing hot and I don't recommend it LOL

For my application, I wanted oil during acceleration and braking, as well as turning both ways. If someone was into drag racing I could see no real need for the rear hinges. Unfortunately, this pan was built for road racing.

At the very least, you now have an extra 2qts+ of oil and it will stay where it needs to be. Any turbo-charged car should have more than a 4qt sump, IMO, for anything more than daily driving. In fact, that's what started this whole thing: Matt was like, "Those cars only have a 4qt sump??". Now we have these LOL.

Trap doors dont need to seal tight.. they are there to control the movement of the oil and keep what is left around the oil pickup. Also, remember that at 6000 rpm that pickup will pull 1 liter per second which in right hand turn will end up on the opposite side of the engine and this is where the extra capacity gives its benefits.
Kaj, great work on organizing the group buy, being the middleman is tough..

I keep adding from 1gal containers, until full. About 6.5qts, if I were to guess.

I learned my lesson the hard way. I'll be staying out of things, from now on. LOL
Unless someone comes up with an order for a ridiculous amount of money.

Turbo's pushing some oil, It happens. The car probably needs better crank case ventilation, or a scavenge pump for the turbo drains.

I believe I told you in this thread that you should have been charging for shipping and charging a bit extra to make some money for yourself lol. It sucks that probably one person ruined this to make you guys not want to do it anymore.

I did, but I didn't account for re shipping multiple pans back and forth.
To be fair. One of the problems was the shop's fault.
