I have a Megan Racing DP installed in my Evo (for 2 weeks). The thing is beautiful, no rattles. I have a B&B cat back and the combo is good for me. Very deep exhaust note.

The only thing is that the muffler if a tad off center on the rear bumper.
My friend also has the same problem with his helix + b&b combo though.

I'll post some pics in a few minutes.

I think I can fix the problem with some after market hangers.

I have a Megan Racing DP installed and also experience rattling. WTF! Does anyone have a remedy? I'd like to try maybe a heat sheild on the oil pan, but where can I find one? If anyone has any suggestions, please post or PM me.

Lost. So much info. Wish we had more weights.

Anyone know of a 3.5" system (85-90mm)? Who's got one...especially if anyone has a titanium turboback that big?

No issues that we have seen with the oil temp. We sell the DEI exhaust wrap kits if you are really concerned with it you can wrap the down pipe. We can wrap it for you if you buy ours and the kit and ship it finished.

The difference between the 2.5, 2.75 and 3" downpipes are going to depend on the rest of the combination.

First off, making a 2.75" downpipe is stupid. It is either too big for the stock cat (along with a 3" to the stock cat) or is too small for the 3" cat backs. Dumb part for anyone to make.

The 2.5" downpipe is perfect for mating up to the stock cat. We have these in 304 grade CNC mandrel bent stainless. Weigh in at 5 pounds and use all the stock lower tie bars, no spacers or mods needed. This can also be used with a 2.5" high flow aftermarket cat or 2.5" offroad pipe. 2.5" downpipes are ideal for HP levels that aren't going to get too crazy.
I would recommend getting the same size downpipe as the rest of the system is going to eventually end up being. In other words, if you are going to run a 3" catback then get the 3" downpipe. If you are going to limit yourself to something like we offer in our economy EVO8 package then stick with the 2.5" downpipe.

3" downpipes are going to be the best for any turbo car. The less back pressure you get in the exhaust system on a turbo car the better. I am seeing a lot of competitors exhausts coming through our shop and I am amazed at the differences in sizes of tubing. Just because they advertise 2.5 or 3" doesn't mean that is what you are getting.

To me a system advetised at a certain size had better be that size all the way through. I am seeing catbacks coming through our shop that are 2.5" from the cat to darn near the muffler, then 3" from there back, they call that a 3" catback?!

There are a lot of choices to be made. I think you'll find we have the lightest, highest flowing systems out there. When you consider the quality of the product and material we will also be just about the lowest price also.

Thanks,

I am assuming your 3" Turbo-back is 3" the whole way? Any fitment issues or can I just bolt the sumbitch on?

You are correct. The 3" turbo back is absolutely 3" the entire way. No reducers, no resonators and the minimum amount of bends possible to get it to fit correctly on the car. You can bolt it on directly.

David,

Resonator section usually looks bigger on the pipe... so I'm always under
the impression that the ID of the resonator will stay 3"... is this true?
Just wondering how much will resonator reduce the ID.

Thanks,

There is no way of telling how big the ID of a resonator is unless you can actually look inside of it. I have seen some that were down to 1.5" max inside, this is on a 2.5" resonator, made the car quiet but lost OVER 100 WHP, yes, 100 WHP on the dyno.

Whether it is straight through 3 or not, a resonator is going to rob some power just as most mufflers robs some.

With that being said, would you recommend your 3" Muffler Delete or 3" Cat back with your 3" turboback system?

Anyone heard anything about the DC sports downpipe? I saw it on OptionImports.com and it says it replaces the cat without needing a test pipe. Heres the link:
