IMO...Helix is the way to go...affordable, no fitment issues, sounds good, raw power....3" DP with the 3" test pipe (will not set off CEL light)..it has a relocation for you O2 sensor....

Hey David,

Why would it be stupid to run a 2.75in downpipe in between the 2.5in O2 stock housing and a 3in highflow cat and 3in catback. Is it impossible to install? It seems as if this combination would make the best balence between highest flowing and smoothest flow as well. Not to mention the extra oil pan/ cross bars clearence it gives.

Thnx,

Yeah, I guess I see the point of having one single companie's stuff from cat to tail for better fitment. I'm really leaning toward Bushcur with the Magnaflow muffler. Don't really see why I'd go with anything else unless someone has any ideas why AMS or B&B are better in a way.

Can someone please explain to me the benefit of the "O2 eliminator" pipes? I see that the turbo outlet housing is replaced with more open-appearing outlet and that there is a separation of the ?wastegate?-exhaust ?? from the main exhaust...with the O2 bung in the latter. I really don't have a firm grasp on this and am really trying to nail down what to go with. Also, is the fitment good with mix-and-match downpipe-cat-catback setups or is it really better to go with all one companies system from turbo back? Anyone know about this? Seems you pay a LOT for the housing/"O2 eliminator" section...but it seems like it would have some significant benefits (other than being a pain in the **** to install due to having to take the radiator off!!) Someone please enlighten me!!!

Oh, and which throw cels and which don't?? (with cats, not test-pipes)

Running a 2.75" downpipe into a 2.5" opening just doesn't flow well, that is why it is "stupid". IF you refuse to change the stock cat to something larger than a 2.5" downpipe is the way to go, it mates up correctly to the stock cat and doesn't cause flow issues, we have them for $250. Of course they are 304 CNC mandrel bent stainless steel, flanged both ends and bolts right up.

As for the 02 housing eliminators I don't personally see much sense in them. The stock part is so nice it just doesn't need replaced. It is going to outflow anything you can put through it on the stock turbo. We made 390 whp and 390 ft lbs of torque on the stock turbo through that stock 02 housing. We also ran an 11.65 at 117.88 mph with that on the car and the stock turbo.

David,

do you think the stock O2 housing needs any porting? I am just thinking back to my old DSM with it's very restrictive housing.

This ain't your father's O2 housing...

Sorry the pictures are a little contrasty, but you get the idea. The left side is a 2G DSM housing. The right one is an Evo housing. Note the GIGANTIC wastegate outlet passage, and the very smooth inner surfaces on the Evo housing.

Ya know, we pulled our 02 housing off thinking there were going to be big gains from porting it. There is so little you can do with it that it isn't worth messing with. That is why we don't advertise a porting service for the stock EVO turbo components, they are just too good to take money from you guys for no gains.

Hey David,

Thnx for trying to respond to my question but you didn't read it correctly. I never asked about running a 2.5 in cat. I asked if it was impossible to run a 2.75in dp into a 3in highflow cat.
