Recirc on Speed Density Setup?
Hey all,
would a Tial QR make sense on a speed density setup? Can I use this bov with the stock UICP and just switch it out with my stock IX DV? If i cant continue to use stock UICP, i'll buy the ets short route UICP but would i need to select the BOV recirc pipe option too? I'm trying to keep stock uicp if i can, and avoid the loud rice sound at the same time. Also, if i go recirc, all of SD intakes i am seeing do not have a way to dump the bov into the intake? Is there an intake pipe out there that can do this, AND is vented for pvc? (i currently have a catch can that is hooked up to the stock intake)
more about my setup: currently making 400 whp on e85 with cosworth m2, FIC 1050cc, walbro 255, ARP headstuds, stock turbo/ MAF/ IX DV, bolt ons, etc. My turbo is currently at FP getting built into a ported JB Black and I will be switching to SD, FIC 1250cc, double pumper. Just trying to choose a BOV and Intake and patiently waiting on the turbo to arrive.
Thanks!

I would imagine it would work and might have an advantage to a quicker spool for the next gear.
Unless of course it causes compressor surge which you dont want.

Do the fp intake. Minor trimming and fitting for best fit, but does fit right out of the package. Make sure you have a good filter adapter.
I did recirculation on my sd configuration. There was tests somewhere that resulted in better boost recovery. Also helped quiet the noise substantially.

Yes you could use the stock intake pipe. It isn't suggested because aftermarket intakes flow much better. Also leaving the MAF isn't a great idea power-wise as it will hurt flow as well.

well i wouldnt keep the maf, because im going SD. I just want an intake that has a recirc port for a recirc bov like the Tial QR, and also is vented so i can hook up my catch can to it. My saikou michi catch does catch some oil in it from the vent nipple in the stock intake, so i dont want to not have that with the new intake.

I just find it odd that there are almost no options that have recirc port AND the nipple for venting to catch can, specifically for speed density. STM has an SD intake that is vented, but no recirc. Then they have maf intakes that obviously have recirc but not vented. It makles me wonder if there is really just no one out there running recirc bov , vented at the intake, on SD??
This is the only thing i found that may work

Call STM, I'm sure they can build it for you.

Most people got with a vta bov when they go speed density. Keeping recirc would slightly improve transient respone. So, it up to you.

so sounds like only pros, and no cons to this type of setup, right? It just felt weird that its that hard to find a recirc intake for under the "speed density" options on most websites, with vent fitting too

Only pro's, yes.
