P.S. Notice the 2 mph gain with a cool down.

I'm organizing an EVO/STi meet on May 1st in Tampa, FL. Check the link in my sig for details.

I'm gonna shoot for a 12.9's-13.0's.

I really want the 12.9's. I may borrow a friends NOS bottle and use it to spray the intercooler cold before running. I'll post results then.

After the 12.9's, then it's time to mod it. Probably start with a DP, APEXi Super AFC II and a Supra fuel pump. With these mods and a steady 20-22psi across the rpm range it should be a lot more fun to drive.

Here's a pic before I lined up.

So just to clarify, these times are simply only with the restrictor pill removed??

Not bad if that's all the mods you've done!

hrmmm.. any idea if something like this (removing the restrictor pill) is safe with a flashed ECU? (dynoflash in this case) ... i would assume so, but just seeing if anyone has any thoughts THANKS AGAIN

If you remove the pill, you will boost excessively high. I have read about some cases of people spiking 24-25.
Just spend $100 and get an mbc; you will run safer, and perhaps faster if you run excessively lean.

Have you read some of the posts? I don't mean to challenge you, but Mitsu's own tech (Mitsupwr) said that this was a warranty fix for low boost for the Evos and that Mitu's own tech line approved this fix. Hey, if it's a free mod and he is willing to share it with us especially since he says that Mitsu stands behind this fix, then what do we have to lose?

I figure if Mitsu Techline approves of this, then it should be fine...however, I am willing to hear any rebuttals...

Brent

I did the clamp tightening, tightened all three clamps on the BOV, noticed a harder pull all the way to redline.

I was boosting about 17.5psi to redline and tapers down to 15.5psi

Did the Restrictor Pill Removal this morning, test drove it and to my suprise my boost went up to 19.5 - 20 psi to redline and tapers back to 17.5 psi - 18psi

My EVO now feels it pulls harder all the way to redline.

I have a question, if you install a MBC, do you have to put back the Restrcitor Pill?

What if you are using 91 Ocane Gasoline? Does you ECU decide how much you boost depending on the Gas you use?

Currently my EVO is using 91 Octane with the Restrictor Pill Removed it boost to 19.5 - 20psi and tapers down to 17.5 - 18psi would my Boost go up if I use a 93 or better Gas?

Do you guys think that using a MBC will hold the boost to 20psi to redline without tapering off?

evo542,

So that means eventhough I have a stock BOV, and Stock Turbo Back with just and AEM Intake I can hold 20psi to redline with a MBC?

Thanks

yes, of course a lot of people are very happy with it, but the only downside to MBC is that you have to readjust it as the weather changes
