It is POSSIBLE that the cam dowel pin intake cam was going into one of the oil holes in the Mivec cam gear...instead the dowel pin hole....

Then the intake cam runs 90 degrees of cw or ccw.....
Yes, watching the video again, this 90 degrees looks good. The intake valves of the 1st cylinder just have to start opening around tdc when the 1st piston is up again.

picture is what im gonna do to the intake cam gear internals. Showing where the cam lobe is and where it will be once i advance 90°. I also show the inside mivec wheel placements and where they will be . Hoping this is the correct way. Lobe* lol did this on my ten.

Ok that makes sense now. Cause i kept staring at the intake cam and while it look off it didnt look 180 out but it looked off. Also when you prime the oil pump try this. Instead of cranking the motor too prime it. Remove the timing belt and take an drill and put a 14mm socket on the bolt and spin the oil pump until you see a steady stream of oil coming out of the lifters. It may take a few minutes before the oil is fully threw the system. Make sure its a drill and not an impact. The impact where they hammer can break the teeth off the oil pump gears.

At this point im thinking we are on the right track. Looking at the back of that mod it looks to me you aligned the cam in the wrong dowel and that is why your intake timing is off.

Great to see there weren't any damaged valves and the compression is fine

So the problem was that the mivec cam gear was put back together incorrectly?

i went through all the threads and the more I read, the more confused I get. I looked at the photos on this thread and I see that he has his mivec gear to the right of the vc mark. and he is using the 64 tbelt. mines is right on the mark and im using the 63 tbelt. I put enough tension on the tensioner so that even after a bunch of revolutions, I could still insert the grenade pin with ease. I really hope I am doing this correctly.
