And ball bearing. Yes! Choices. Do they need the same crank case ventilating as other turbos FP BBs?
Ive run mine for ~4 years (or something like that) on the standard feed and drain lines. So really nothing special. Been to long to remember the details on it but I know I researched what it needed and this was the way to go.
My only issue with any of the new alternatives, the BBK Full BB (or Blouch 1.0XTR) is just really good. Id really have to see results to be convinced something else better and not just different.
This was from 2015 and just a baseline tune on the old 2.3l. We had issues with the plugs and breaking up a bit up top and just ran a flat duty cycle with boost dropping past 5500. Now its on the 2.2 and holding more boost but I just tune it myself from logs while racing and havent been back to the dyno since.

FWIW my mivec 2.2/red almost spools that fast. The difference is likely about imperceptible in the car on course.
This is why I honestly think small turbos are overrated in spool characteristics if you have the right combo...
Truth! 400 lb ft by 3700-3800 is respectable . We've got an engine that can only consume so much air (down low) and will go to 7500-8000 proud with an MHI housing.
Regarding the bbk full, IIRC its a 550whp turbo that tapers a bit after 6500-7000.
