This is information was from an engineer at Tial being I wanted to get the Tial hotside for my setup and he told me not worth it being the bpe hotsides flow very very well. So if yo wanted a twin scroll setup you would have to ditch the Tial hotside and go with a divided t4. I did my research on this when I did my setup being I wanted something similar.

Thanks a lot for explanation. So if I want to go with twin scroll I just go with divided t4 hotside but isn't turbo internally different single scroll vs twin scroll? Also lets say I will decide to single scroll and tial hotside I will just go with 1 wasegate but why Dan on his evo using tial hotside and 2 wasegates. Is this giving him any benefits? Sorry for stupid question but it is weird using tial hot side which is not divided inside but 2 wasegates. Thanks a lot!

I am unfimiliar with Dan's setup but if I had to guess he has 2 wastegates due to the fact hey dump from 2 cylinders each. Works like a divided t4 setup. Idk maybe Dan can chime in on that if he knows why but that is my guess. It is easier and more efficient to dump 2 cylinders rather then try to do all 4 at once. I would guess better boost control. Idk I am not an engineer lol. My brain thinks way differently then smart people but if I had to guess that would be it.

Got it thanks a lot for help. One more question. Do you think it is good idea to run 1 wasegate with that size turbo? I don't mind a little later spool but I just don't want to spool past 7k rpm hehe

Be dumb to but you could. your boost control suck big time. And if your not going past 7k no point getting a turbo that large to have 1500 rpm powerband.

Sorry let me correct myself. Engine will be rev to 9k rpm but what I was meaning I want that turbo to spool decent with 1 wasegate not at the end of my rpms. I email to xona rotor about it and he answered that non of their turbos are twin scroll. and that single scroll on that turbo is just fine with tial back housing and it has decent spool. He says that one of their customer installed 10569s and single 44mm wasegate with tial 0.82 ar housing and made 1011whp with decent spooling turbo.

that makes a little more since. If this car sees the street at all I would stay with the 38mm. Bigger isn't always better when it comes to wastegates. That turbo no matter what you do with it is going to be laggy. You can try to help it with the hotside and single wastegate but end of the day your going to see 5500 to 6000 before it really gets going for power. With a twin scroll and dual 38mm gates and a 1.0 hotside my car makes 1000whp at around 38 to 40 PSI, I don't remember exactly which it is, but it's around there.

Spool wise I have mine tuned for the street so I kept spool to com on a little later so it feels kinda laggy, even with a 2.2 it's not to bad for me. I can get full boost by 6800ish and I can rev it to 10,500 if I wanted to. I tend to keep my redline around 9 to 9500 for the street. My car does make over 1150 on pump e85 and it makes over 1240 - 1250ish on one ethenol r at 55 lbs.
I know this is apples to oranges but my turbo basically started out as a bw 369. Hope that this info helps you some.

Thanks a lot for help. What turbo are you running? xr10569 can't be twin scroll so look like running xona twin scroll will not help spool at all. My current turbo is 6266 gen 2 with t3 and one wasegate. I see full boost at around 5700 on 3rd gear so I understand on bigger turbo I will have a little more lag but I wish to have it no later than 6300-6500 on 3rd gear that would be acceptable but if its later than that it would be pain in the *** to drive it on the street. On my setup on 1st gear full boost hit at around 6700-6900 so it is not the greatest but still acceptable.

MY turbo is in my sig. It's a forced inductions s372., Basically the same as the 10569 but larger and it flows 115lbs per min and it has a 1.0 a/r hotside. Here's of the picture of the dynograph when it made 1165

This will give you an idea of how this style of turbo reacts.

That was in 4th gear, he was working out some issues and made a pull right afterwards. I don't have any third gear pulls on my phone that I saw.
