Notice that the 2871 uses a .60AR TO4B compressor cover and adapter ring where the 3071 uses .50AR TO4E cover/ring for the same 56 trim GT35 wheel . Also note that it is offered with an alternate 48 trim comp wheel .
Does anyone here think that its possible to use the TO4B cover/ring to get the GT3071R off its butt a little earlier , and if so if it was offered with the 48 trim wheel would this also help without giving too much away at the top end ?
While I'm here , could I be excused for thinking that ATP's anti reverse rotation exhaust housing looks a bit like the old Garrett on center housing , could this factor be costing the Evo conversion some spool .
Just some food for thought thanks A .

I know what you are talking about exactly. That turbo wont bolt on our manifold. Plus its not much bigger than our stocky.

Shiv, the car made 425whp or so on your dyno. It hits full boost by 4500rpm and has the potential to make 500whp on your dyno without a lot of work. Probably more like 600whp on the DD we use down here.

Anyway there is defintely some issues with the turbo set ups. Like I said before, it took Forced Performance at least 2 years of development to build a proper turbine housing for the GT series turbos. They perfected it and now they work great. As well, Precision also makes a great trubine housing for the GT series turbos. I just don't see this turbo performing the way it should with it's current set up. The turbine housing plays such a major role on spool an overall power and is very critical.

Also at what point are you going to want the stock manifold on the car. Yes you can make power on a stock manifold, but spool and overall power won't be as good as a tubular manifold.

I am just bringing up some very valid points about this turbo. These are things that people need to think about before jumping into it.

I don’t know if you are going through the whole post or not. Anyways, Your RnR car is spooling faster or maybe close to mine because your engine is 2.4 I believe which makes A HUGE difference. My turbo will spool in high 3000 rpm soon and I will show you the results from a dynojet. Now that being said ATP is the only company that made turbos to fit our stock manifold and delivers all this power no other company were capable of doing such a thing. ATP been doing this for ever not for few years they actually work with garret neck to neck to develop turbos. My car is still stock and I making all this power. I just changed my TURBO.

I am talking about the 2.0 car.

On our 2.4 we are getting full boost by 3500-3700rpm on a huge GT35R,.82AR, .70AR TO4S.

I'm doing a 3in highflow. My car is a street car and I'm in NJ. I understand your position (I'm going to court July 14th because of being cat less) just get a 3in cat and call it a day.

But you can always add a DNP or JIC or HKS equal length header for the stock turbo, then all you have to worry about is that turbine housing.

This is one of the worst tickets you can get .. being CAT LESS. I would be top less before being catlees

Here's my 2 cents.

You can hollow out the stock cat, so you can gain some power and not get nabbed by the popo. Or hollow out the 3" cat.

You know the stock cat inter dia is over 3in. The flanges can be honed to almost 3in and the you take a long Drill bit and go to town on it.

But you did not hear that from me
