MR vs EVO: Is the MR edition worth it?
i had to go for the MR. the aluminum roof does make a difference in handling. removing that weight from the top helps lower the center of gravity. the bilstiens ride better, and grip better (although i did toss them out for Buddy Club Racing specs lol). the Zero lift kit is pretty badass, and so are the aluminum crash beams in the door. i also couldn't live without the 6speed. i dunno, everything the MR has, i wanted. i didn't want to look back and regret not getting the best of the bunch. it's the fastest of the bunch around a road course, and it's just badass. it was worth the money
What is the zero lift package? sorry I didnt know about that therefore didnt get a MR and what is this package good for?

If you don't know what it's good for, why are you sorry you didn't get it?
The Zero Lift package consists of a short air dam and a Gurney flap on the wing. Both can be added post-purchase. The Gurney flap, alone, can be had for under $100 from the classifieds.
MR SE FTW!
Whoa, too many letters lol
When it came time to get an Evo, I personally wanted the top-of-the-line one. Having been at the bottom of the pack with my last car and looking up for so long, I figured I'd just splurge and get all the goodies.

Plus, for my purposes the MR is perfect. I'm not on the track everyday; I just wanted a nice street car with incredible handling and overall excellent performance. Without a doubt that's the Evo in a nutshell, and since I could afford all the added goodies, why not?

Why do I keep hearing that the Evos before the 05 or MRs did not come with HIDs? I've owned my EVO since 15 May 03 and it came with HIDs....
In my opinion, the MR is worth the money but not worth it if you are trading an Evo that you've dumped massive amounts of money into it. You'll lose out big time when trading unless you don't plan on modifying again (then get the MR). but simply put Trading (modded evo for MR) = Throwing money away.

RS $27.000 vs MR $ 37.000 it's wort it???/+ tax increase/
if you are hardcore tuner ,not. if you mild or you will stay stock, yes.
and DON'T forget .the MR is NOT a special edition now ,like it was in 05...
it's a trim.

here in N.J. or the TRI state you pay $35.000 - $37.000 = tax +/0.08%/
$37.800-$39.960...
for the RS $ 27.000 +tax /0.08/ $29.160...
sucks...
But only thing is matters : YOU have to like it!
all though did you ever had another evo before?

I went with the GSR, becuase I couldnt find a MR close enough too me. I know I might get some get chewed out becuase what I am about to say, but essentially there both the same, besides the bilsteins, 6spd, and exterior ALMOST the same car. If you want to track the car, go with an RS and build up. MR is the TUNED package. Not that far off in power compared with a GSR.
Again this is just a generalization.
