JDM...have you ever heard of a thing called reading comprehension? It is where you read something and fully understand what is being said! Wow....what a wonderful concept that is!

Don't tell me "oh I worked here and there" and act like you know the situations that I am put in day to day. The dealer that I work for use this as a rule of thumb. We will do almost all claims once for a customer. Unless it is something that can be very expensive like an Evo engine rebuild. Then that might require pcitures sent to the DM for approval. But, after the first time of fixing something. It then can become considered a possible abuse issue. Heck we even will take care of the first clutch for you! That being said, we DO STAND BEHIND OUR PRODUCT....DUMB ****! Have you been to my dealership....uhhhm...NO! So pipe down.

Second of all, and this is where reading comprehension comes in. If you are so freakin unhappy with Mitsubisihi(as a company) and that they don't do warranty work. And you make it very evident you are. Why do you buy their product?????????? That being said, let me repeat myself. If you don't like Mitsubishi (as a company), why do you buy their product? .....simple as that! Nothing complicated about it. Comprehend my friend! Now run along and play!

Every dealership warranties the stock clutch up to 12K-15K miles......depends on the circumstances. So your ALL MIGHTY dealership is still just as F***ing dumb as the rest of them.

Mitsubishi must be proud of their little porter standing up for them......this is just great!

No, I would rather not go into another dealership, especially if your the mirror of the other employees there.

BTW, I just bought an IS300 yesterday anyways, so my EVO is probably going to be put on hold after I install my suspension.

Is a Mitsubishi employee talking $hit? Your such a moron! Grow up kid......and talk $hit when your old enough to back your comments up.

Let me answer your questions:

Que: Why do you buy their product??????????

Ans: In order to go through a warranty issue, you have to have the car, right! Your such a F***in idiot...... This goes to show that everyone that I've met that work for Mitsubishi dealers suck.

Que: If you don't like Mitsubishi (as a company), why do you buy their product?

Ans: I like Mitsubishi for their ideas, ergernomics engineering, power-plants and their looks, but THEM BACKING THEIR CARS ON WARRANTY ISSUES BLOWS.....! THAT'S WHAT THIS THREAD IS ABOUT RIGHT? Or did I mis-interpret the title, because I'm the supposed dumba$$. Seriously, your probably just a porter anyways, or a stupid salesman so stop writing on here, because your really, really DUMB!

"Every dealership warranties the stock clutch up to 12K-15K miles"....?!?!? let me raise the BS flag... the clutch is a "wear item" it IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. I speak from experience.

It is a wearable item....YES, but from the Parts/Service Director of 2 Dealers here in Texas, they warranty this clutch up to these miles.....it's been done, so you can put your BS flag back in your pocket.

You must have just learn what that was in Sophmore English in Highschool.....well maybe not learned, but at least you've heard of it.

If you may know my situation:

A plug on the inner-side of my frame-rail under my driver-side floor-mat is leaking throught the carpet. Are you following me so far.......let's move on........They are trying to tell me that my car had it's rear, REAR, REAR, REAR, REAR, REAR passenger-side 1/4 panel replaced and it was causing the leak, therefor it wouldn't be covered under warranty. I bought the car new, 1st of all......and it's never been in even a fender-bender 2nd. SO I DIDN'T SUPE-UP MY CARPET, AND IT'S NEVER BEEN IN A WRECK, AND IT'S LEAKING FROM A PLUG.........why are they giving me a hard time about it expert.

This is a summary from a different website.

"Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act

Is your car still under warranty? Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, and the general principles of the Federal Trade Commission Act, a manufacturer/dealer may NOT require you to have routine oil changes or use any particular brand of oil filter (or any other car part) unless the manufacturer provides the item free of charge, during the terms of the warranty.

If your car is still covered under the new car warranty and a dealer is telling you that you have to use their name brand filter or your new car warranty will be voided, for example, then you should thank him, and inform him that under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act he now has to provide that oil change and filter for free. It is not true that you have to use the dealer for oil changes, even on a brand new car. If dealers say you are required to use their products or else have your warranty voided, then the work is considered warranty work and must be provided for free. The requirement is to use approved products. In fact, you can do the oil change yourself as long as you use approved products and do the oil changes at the required intervals. If you do them yourself simply keep documentation. "

If I understand this correctly Mitsubishi is required by federal law to replace air filters free of charge for the lifetime of the warranty since replacing it with a different part voids the warranty. Can anyone else think of creative ways to use the M-M Act in our favor? It is after all Federal law Mitsubishi follow this act.

Also, where is this list of "Approved" products? How about tires? Do we need approved tires? How about lugnuts? If we use non-Mitsu lugs what then? Etc...

i make it a point to ask when im at the service/parts desk getting oil filters if the clutch is under warranty. I had gears and synchros replaced, only after almost a week of talks with mistu reg. rep., did i finally get them to honor the warranty [full story https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...hlight=budlong ]
I have been to three dealerships in northen california, and three in southern california. Every single place has told me the same thing... clutch is a wear item and not covered under the warranty. Maybe its different in the land of Bush, but i doubt the warranty differs state to state. I think u might have just found the rare service department who is willing to help out the customer. They do exist, but its definitly not the "mitsubishi" attutide.

Well, I was laughing when he told me that they cover them under warranty for that term, and I had to ask if he was serious. He even confirmed that with a tech. It all depends on the circumstances, but he stated if the car has 12K or less miles than they would replace it under warranty 1 time.

I'm talking about my issue with the car flooding the floor-board b/c of a damn plug and their giving me crap for it. My carpet isn't supted up or modified, so how is it not covered under warranty? That is my issue, I could give 2 $hit's about a clutch. I replaced that thing with my ACT @ 14K miles.
