Question Suspension clunk

I was driving the other day and I heard a clunk from my suspension in the front. Its happened on both left and right front now, does anyone else get this? I took a look up in there but couldn't see anything that looked wrong. The clunk was loud enough that I could hear it over normal stereo volume. It happened when going hard around a corner both times. I thought it may be the suspension bottoming out but that seems odd to me, I wasn't going that fast, and the road wasn't that bumpy. The noise is quite rare, happened.. 2 or three times, in about 3 weeks of ownership though. I can't get it happen whenever I want, it just happens sometimes randomly, but always while cornering reasonably hard.

I've got it going in to get some dash lights replaced soon, so I might get them to take a look at it then, but I always dread taking my cars in and telling them about a problem they will need to "road test" to find :|
Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I have it too or atleast it's very similar. Mine happens on turns and bumps. It's rare that it happens but it's loud and I can't make it happen on demand either. I don't want the test drive either so I'm debating about telling them.

I too have this "clunk."

I've noticed it when I go into a corner a little hot and there's a slight bump/variation in the surface of the road.

I can't believe that the shocks are being compressed so much that were bottoming out.

I'm waiting till the first track day opens up to do some suspension testing.

i have the same noise, but i cant pinpoint it. it sounds like shocks/springs to me as well. i had them look last time it was in for a oil change and they couldnt find anything. but it hadnt done it for three days or so when i was in there. i am worried cause i am supposed to install spring next week, and if i do that, and it is something, they will blame it on the aftermarket springs.

OK I had this exact issue as soon as I installed my TEIN H springs.......It only happened when turning and was exactly as described...a..."CLUNK". I took it back to the shop that installed it and he confirmed the issue too, as you can hear it by just turning th wheel and car not in motion......what he found was that the Spring had moved and was not postiond correctly on the Strut, he installed it correctly but it moved when I drove it..........so He just readjusted and problem was 99.8% gone for the first week...then the springs settled ( i think) and no more Clunk.....I hope this helps.

I have had the clunk in the right front suspension ever since I got my JIC coil overs. It comes and goes. Sometimes you don't hear/feel it at all, and other times it is awful. It does not seem to affect handling, I have suffered with the clunk for about a dozen track days.

I've had this too. Generally on the right front. Especially when the car is cold, and it is freexing outside, I hear it a lot. How can it be the shocks/springs if someone with a coilover setup has it? Mine is stock. But the noise does not sound right. Wy would the springs not be sitting correctly in the perch?

I get a noticeable clunk too, when I'm on the brakes and going over small bumps at low speeds. Stock suspension. Glad to hear it's not just me. Seems to happen more in the cold weather. Bushings?

For those with stock suspensions, that clunk you here is the upper shock mount. When you hit a turn the spring, for some reason or another, shifts and reseats itself and thats where the noise happens. Alot of guys buy the tein pillow ball mount and it went away. I believe Works sell some also. Now for those with aftermarket coilovers, check the springs and make sure that they are seated properly. Even though they look right out of the box, check them anyway. One last thing, when you mount the shocks, make sure that surface of the mounts is clean of any debris or they might not seat right. Hope this helps you guys.
